LeapFrog Leapster handheld Review Summary
Want to introduce your child to electronic toys that will help them learn? Reviewers recommend the
LeapFrog Leapster Handheld for teaching children at several different levels so your toy can grow with your child. Children are entertained for hours, making it great for travel. It also keeps younger children from toy envy of their older brother or sister’s Game Boy or Nintendo. While some parents may feel the price tag is a little on the expensive side for the hand held game and the individual games, this durable toy lasts long and can be used by more than one child in a family before giving out. For one families trip from Michigan to Florida, “it kept his mind (and his little hands) busy and he can play it without getting frustrated.” One reviewers three boys played rough and she says, “I don't know how many times it has been dropped but it is still working beautifully!” All reviewers agree that rechargeable batteries are an absolute necessity, as children will wear batteries down fast, and recommend using the AC adaptor whenever possible. a fan of educational toys, mom of boy and girl, buying for durability
We purchased our first Leapster handheld 3 years ago. It is extremely durable. My son would carry it every where we went. I never had a game that quit working. Now my daughter uses it. My son is now seven and he is getting a new Leapster from Santa. …

buying educational toys, buying for a kindergardener, mom of 2 boys
LeapFrog's Leapster handheld is the perfect education toy for younger kids. It has larger buttons, easier to use functions and age-appropriate games. I bought LeapFrog's Leapster handheld game for my son last Christmas when he was fighting with his older brother over his Game-boy. He really was too young to be playing game-boys, but he wanted to feel like a big kid and have portable fun too. — — It did the trick! LeapFrog's Leapster handheld game kept his mind (and his little hands) busy and he can play it without getting frustrated. — — LeapFrog's Leapster handheld…

loving this product, a fan of educational toys, mom of 3
This is a wonderful product!! I am a bargain hunter and the price tag on this toy is a little steep, but I have no regrets. The price is well worth it. I have 3 children, a 4 yr. old boy, a 6 yr. old girl and an 11 yr. old girl. They all play with it. The younger two play with it the most. It is a great toy to take on the road! It will keep kids occupied for long periods of time. Not only is that great in itself, but while they play they learn! Who doesn't love that? My 6 yr. old learned all of her letter sounds well before kindergarten playing with the Leapster. It is very fun and very…

a fan of educational toys, loving this product, interested in fun for kids, mom of 2, a mom of imaginative kids!
We've had the Leapster at our house for about three years now. We actually own two, couldn't imagine my kids having to share this one. This thing goes everywhere, but is especially nice in the car. There are many games to go with it. My daughter loves to draw, and there is a great drawing game. Many of the games teach the same concepts, but with different characters to make it fun. We're still playing the preK-1st grade games, most of which focus on letter and number recognition, as well as simple math. My kids just love playing these games. …

loving this product, a fan of educational toys, fan of hassle-free toys, married, mom of twin girls and a son, mom of 3, value conscious, willing to pay for quality
This is one of the absolute best toys out there. My son is 5 years old and has had his for almost 2 years. He is still not tired of it. those of you with toddlers/preschoolers out there know that a toy that stays around for that long is really worth the money. The games can be pricey (about $25each), but i look for them on sale. My son is continually entertained by his Leapster. My girls are 18 months right now and they will definitely get a Leapster when they are older. …

buying for a kindergardener
We received the leapster as a gift when my son was turning 5. He opened it and went to town without any assistance from mom! It comes with a couple basic games which carried us for a few weeks, but he quickly wanted to move on to something new. We went to target and purchase the "cars" game. Loved that one too. He spent a few weeks playing on his own not moving up the levels very fast, but quickly figured out the concept for the game and is on his way to reading!!! —…

My Daughter absolutely loves her Leapster. We bought this for her for Christmas when she was 3. She now has about 12 games. I love the Leapster because there are a variety of games out there for different age levels and many games to choose from. She never gets bored and loves to take this wih us when we go up to Canada. She is actually wearing the Leapster out and we will probably have to buy her a new one in the near…

a fan of educational toys, married, loving this product, cost-conscious, mom of 2, practical
This is by far the best gift my child has ever received. All the games are fun and educational. She feels good about herself when she conquers a level or game and almost doesn't realize that she is learning at the same time! It goes everywhere with us. Some have stated the batteries go quickly- but in my experience that is not the case especially since she uses it all the time. This is a must…

The Leapster is great for travel! Both of girls (ages 2.5 and 4) have taken their Leapsters all over the US, Canada and Mexico for travel. They are not gental girls so these toys have been dropped, kicked and all around abused. They have stood up to the abuse over and over without any problems! The games are great for our girls and offer a great educational…
