I bought this for my son because he really enjoyed playing his ds but all he ever talked about was "Mario" and "pokemon", and it started to worry me. I confiscated the ds (temporarily) and got him a few games with characters that I knew he loved hoping it would captivate his attention.

He was upset at first but once he started to play, he loved it! The games actually interact with him and help him or ask him questions in addition to the challenges and adventure games. He enjoys them much more than his ds now because of that. He learned phonics through the games, addition, and even how to draw!...

I just bought this Leap Frog Leapster 2 Star Wars design Product and my 6 year old LOVES it!  I bought it on a whim at Target, #1 because it was 1/2 off (39.99 from 79.99) and #2 because it was the Star Wars theme with a free Star Wars Math cartridge included.   The cartridge alone costs $24.99 so I think I got a pretty great deal.  The game comes in 3 levels  with number 1 being the easiest.  I have found that my 6 year old is very good at the 3rd level (the highest).  There is another math game for I believe 6-8 year olds and I think I will buy that for my 6 year old next time they are...

The Leapster Learning system is a great learning tool for kids.  I purchased one for my grandson when he was three to give him a headstart on learning.  Most kids enjoys the games format of leaning.  The games use familiar characters like Dora and the Star War characters to help children learn.  In addition, it encourages children to lean how to reason and create ways to win while playing the games.  As the children grow older, you can purchase additional games to challenge each age category. I have watch my grandson lean math skills by figuring out how to beat a character in the Star Wars...

My son received the LeapFrog Leapster 2 for Christmas. His original Leapster handheld had been with us for a couple years at that point and it finally bit the dust. The original had been so successful, my boyfriend and I decide to upgrade to Leapster 2 since my son was advancing more in his academic skill levels. He opened it Christmas morning and his eyes got bigger than I had ever seen them do as a result of a present. He immediately wanted to open the game system up and try it out. We had gotten him the special edition Cars Leapster 2, which featured Lightning McQueen and the red, yellow and...

My 5-year-old son got the Leap Frog Leapster 2 for Christmas this past year.  He absolutely loves it.  It comes with a Leap Frog game and then we bought him the Sonic game.  The games are reasonably priced, especially in comparison to other gaming systems.  Plus the games come in lots of different popular characters, so there is still quite a list my son would like to get.  He has taken this on road trips and it was a life saver at times.  Its small enough to put in a back pack or purse but the buttons are easy for a preschooler to use.  Its also durable.  The only thing I might recommend...

We bought the Leapster2 for my 5 year old son for Christmas.  We are very pleased with this product.  It is durable, educational and fun.  The Leapster2 offers parents the ability to track their child's learning by connecting the game via the Internet.  We also loved that we could load 2 free games from the web site.  There are lots of great games with all the popular characters.  And now there are even game available up to age 8.  A great alternative to Nintendo!
