LeapFrog® Leapster® 2 Learning System- green —

I bought this for my son because he really enjoyed playing his ds but all he ever talked about was "Mario" and "pokemon", and it started to worry me. I confiscated the ds (temporarily) and got him a few games with characters that I knew he loved hoping it would captivate his attention.

He was upset at first but once he started to play, he loved it! The games actually interact with him and help him or ask him questions in addition to the challenges and adventure games. He enjoys them much more than his ds now because of that. He learned phonics through the games, addition, and even how to draw! And he didn't even realize he was learning until he was done.

This has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. The games are slightly expensive at $20 each, but compared to ds games which are usually about $30, it is still a bargain. And they run sales on their website www.leapfrog.com all the time, often reducing games to as low as $9.99! You can't beat that!

One of the best things about the Leapster 2 is the ability to connect it to the internet and keep track of things like each childs profile (there is room for 4), and what they are learning. It tells you what subjects they have been learning, how well they are doing, and how much they have improved. They also have the ability to earn more games to download to an sd card in the Leapster, and rewards such as certificates and colorings pages. My son loves it!
