LeapFrog LeapPad Review Summary

The LeapFrog Leap Pad is an educational toy for preschoolers through elementary with lots of activities in reading, writing and math. It is fun, portable and children don’t realize they are learning. One of the best features of the Leap Pad learning system is shared by extasyjess, “This toy has a wide variety of books to chose from at all grade levels.” MrsKimble is happy that many of her daughter’s basic skills have been reinforced, “From the different "games" available, she has had her letters, vocabulary, colors, and numbers reinforced,” so thrilled that she has already purchased the next level. Many parents warn of the price for games, as well as the pad itself may be considered expensive. Younger children may have difficulty making sure that they cartridges are fully installed. But reviewers agree with cautigirl who says, “Overall this is a great product for introducing kids to reading or reinforcing reading skills.” Read more Educational Toys reviews to find other toys that may keep your child entertained and learning.

LeapFrog LeapPad

The LeapFrog Leap Pad is an educational toy for preschoolers through elementary with lots of activities in reading, writing and math. It is fun, portable and children don't realize they are learning. "This toy has a wide variety of books to chose from at all grade levels." I am happy that many of my sons basic skills have been reinforced, "From the different "games" and books available,He has had his letters, vocabulary, colors, and numbers reinforced as well as phonics!," I am so thrilled that he has learned so much and has fun doing it. I buy alot of my books on ebay for...

The Leapfrog Leap pad is an excellent toy for both the beginning reader and the more experienced reader.  This toy has lasted through three rambunctious boys and still works as well today as it did when my 14 year old son received it for Christmas ten years ago.

You can customize your child's learning with different age level targeted books.  The ages range from pre-k (4-5) and up.  A younger child can still enjoy the older books because the attached pen helps the child read by sounding out words phonetically.

I would recommend this toy to all parents who want their children to have fun...

This toy has a wide variety of books to chose from at all grade levels. We have had it 3 years and has been passes down. My 2 year old even loves it. This educational toy is a toy not only for kindergarteners and up, it is a toy for toddlers too. It is getting my toddler intersested in reading and a head start for school. It also has interactive games withing the pages that teach them math, science, colors, shapes and more. The only down fall to me is the pages not staying in place for the younger kids. But the pen has stayed attached and pages are pretty durable. Is a great starter toy for educational... review »

We have 5 children. Did not have this toy for the oldest , but the youngest 4 have used this toy often. It is both entertaining and educational. Have replaced it once, but after all the use it received, it was due to wear out ! The books are more than just stories. They contain educational games as well. There are many different titles available. The toys is useable by a child for many years at there are books appropriate for preschoolers as well as upper elementary ages.

This a good product for children K-3rd grade.  It could also be good for pre-k students if they are interested in reading and have a fairly good attention span.  There are several different books that you can get which makes it versatile.  The downside is that the cartridges/book packets are pretty expensive- about $20 unless you find them on clearance.  Overall this is a great product for introducing kids to reading or reinforcing reading skills.

Have always been a "Leap Frog" product fan. My Pre-schooler brought home a Leap Pad from school one day. He absolutely LOVED it! He was able to read, play games, & really enjoy the different things he could do with it. My older children had "Tad" the Leap Frog stuffed frog & they loved it when they were young. The entire Leap Pad series is wonderful! I love the varity & value of them!

My daughter loves Leap Pad.  The games are fun to her and she learns a lot of information while palying them.  We can take the Leap Pad in the car or to an appointment and she always has something to do and learns while having fun! I do not mind her playing because I know it is educational and she is not just wasting her time.  The games are age appropriate and the characters are popular with the age range as well.

It's a good addition for homeschooling, and it's portable, but it doesn't replace a computer with good educational programs. The books are high in price, but you can get around that by shopping at discount stores, or shopping sales on their website. It's something different for my six year old to do when she's not on her computer.

My daughter has had her Leap Pad for several years now and plays with it often.  From the different "games" available, she has had her letters, vocabulary, colors, and numbers reinforced.  I have already purchased the next Leap Frog computer system for her when she outgrows her current one.

This is a durable, fun, educational product.  It was a little hard to keep the book in the right spot and a little difficult to make sure the cartridge was all the way pushed in and to remember to push the gree cirlce each page and/or book switch for my 5 year old, but he really enjoyed it!

Both of my boys got Leap Frog Leap Pads a couple of years ago, and they were GREAT!  I loved the variety of books available and how much my boys learned from them. They could play with them for hours on end!  Both of them are very good readers and I think this product helped.
