LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set Review

I have been a big fan of LeapFrog toys since my first child was born and still love them after my second came along.  The LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set is a wonderful educational toy to introduce your child to the love of learning their letters and sounds!  My children and I have never tired of playing with this toy and have added the LeapFrog Fridge Word Whammer to our addition of LeapFrog toys, so that my children can make up 3-letter words using the letters and sounds they make.  My son's now in 1st grade (age 6) and his sister is just in preschool (age 3).  We also have the LeapFrog videos that reinforce what the Leapfrog Fridge Phonics games are helping to teach our kids.

 The LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set is designed to be portable and is very durable...you can leave it on the fridge for the kids to play, play in another room (with/without using a cookie sheet to hold toy and letters in one place) of the house or take with you on roadtrips.  When we go visit family in Ohio, I pack up their LeapFrog games to play in the car.  The letters and toy fit nicely in a plastic shoe box and sit beautifully in the backseat of my PT Cruiser, inbetween both of my children and their carseats...there's no fighting for who's going to play what when I bring a few of the LeapFrog Magnetic letter toys for them to choose from.  I also take these games into the classroom for use during centers for my Kindergarteners.

I recommend this product whole-heartedly!  My children learned to recognize their letters and know their sounds within 2 weeks of playing with this game.  If you have children between the ages of 1 1/2 & 6, this product is for you.  It helps them with their letters and sounds and also sings the alphabet.  I love the 2-level volume control (I cannot stand loud toys and this is perfect for my family...I can choose the lower volume for them to use).  I also have the lowercase letters that are available for purchase seperately for the LeapFrog Fridge Phonics toys for a low price.  The lowercase letters are a great addition to this toy, because when they get to school and are writing their letters and their name, the teachers will require them to write their names with a capital letter at the beginning and the rest lowercase.  I have found out through teaching my Kindergarten students also, that the children also love to play the LeapFrog Fridge Phonics games in their centers.  I recommend the LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set to my parents during conference time for those that are having a hard time with recognizing their letters and sounds and recommend the LeapFrog Word Whammer Fridge Phonics Set to those that have children that already know their letters and sounds to challenge them to create simple words using those sounds and letters that they already know!
