I purchased Leap Frog Fridge Phonics when I first heard about it for my 2 year old niece's birthday.  I am a HUGE fan of educational toys, as this is the time and age where kids learn the most.  My niece was pretty quick at learning everything she knows know, from colors and numbers and even the alphabet before her 2nd birthday!  I decided though, that the Fridge Phonics would be a good reminder for her to keep learning every day.  The fact that it is magnetic makes it wonderful for kids as well, since it's letting them know that "this is where it goes" and maybe makes them be a little more organized when it comes to putting toys where they should be.  I've been to my sister's house to see the Fridge Phonics recently, and noticed some of the letters were missing, but my niece was in there listening to the alphabet option, which sings the whole thing regardless!  It really is a very education toy and also really fun for them [and me!], so I would definitey recommend this for a Mom, Aunt, Uncle, Friend, etc. to get for an awesome kid!

My kids grew up with these and now the little boy that I babysit uses it every time he is here. It's a great learning tool but I also agree about the one negative aspect of losing the magnets. I don't know where the permanently missing magnets went but it's funny where I find the other ones around the house - in shoes, in the dog's dish, my children's sock drawers, etc.

My nepew loves these too. He's had them since Christmas and he already knows the whole alphabet, some colors, and can count to ten (he'll be 2 in August). I also think learning toys are the best and these kids nowadays are smarties! Thanks for sharing.
