Lean Mean Thirteen Review Summary

Heads up mystery lovers! Janet Evanovich brings back everybody's plucky bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, in Lean Mean Thirteen which is, strangely enough, the thirteenth book in this highly successful series. "You do not need to read the first 12 books in this series to catch on to Lean Mean 13 but it may help you to understand the characters a bit better." This time Stephanie finds herself under suspicion when her ex-husband, Dickie Orr disappears under violent circumstances. So, this time she has to track down her bail jumpers while trying to solve Dickie's disappearance. Along the way she discovers shady shenanigans at Orr's law firm. All the while she still can't decide if she loves the mysterious Ranger or Joe. One reviewer says of the love triangle "As a long-time reader, I have to admit the love triangle is getting tiresome, making me want to shout, "Just pick one, for Pete's sake!" , but everyone, our reviewers included, still love Stephanie.

Harry Potter fans have looked forward to summer for their reading. A group of "Plum" fans also look forward to summer. This is when Janet Evanovich's latest book about Stephanie Plum comes out. Lean Mean Thirteen is a crazy and fun read as Stephanie, a Jersey girl, is an unconventional bounty hunter...

I have read every book in this series and in order, but this last one just seemed to not be as good as the others. I am always so into the book that i need to finish it in just a few days, but this one I was able to put down and found myself saying many times during the book "what happened to the humor... review »

O.K. If you've never read Janet Evanovich, then I suggest you start now.  You will be in for one hell of a great ride.  She has finished her 13th in the Stephanie Plum series and if you start reading her, you get to read all 13.  WOW!!!!  Stephanie and her family and lovers are not anyone you will forget.  Rich in humor and gut splitting... You will love Grandma Mazur.... Rex, the hamster, is a large part of Steph's life as well as two absolutely divine hunks - Joe and Ranger...Have a wonderful time exploring this versatile author...

My favorite female Bounty Hunter is back at it again with Janet Evanovich's Lean Mean 13.  For those of you unfamiliar with the series the Stephanie Plum series is placed under the category of mystery. and I have seen books in this series under the category of humor at some bookstores and online sites. Lean Mean 13 is just the latest book in what is commonly know to fans as the number series, or the Stephanie Plum series.  Stephanie Plum is a female bounty hunter who is in love with two guys.  Stephanie's FTA's (failure to appear) and things in her personal life always have Stephanie ending... review »

I started reading "One for the Money" two weeks ago, and ended with "Lean Mean Thirteen" two days ago.  I love this series, and this one doesn't disappoint!  I'm curious to see where the Stephanie/Ranger relationship goes in the next book.  And I appreciate the mystery aspect, although it was easy to solve until "Eleven on Top" - keep throwing in those surprises, Janet!

I love stephanie she makes me laugh who cares if the plot is the same

She still packs in the laughs who knows what predicament stephanie will find herself in

Handcuffed to her shower or maybe with a pile of food covering her from head to tow

whatever it is her pack of night and shining armors with be there to clean her up.

LEAN MEAN THIRTEEN by Janet Evanovich ($27.95, St. Martin's Press)  Thirteenth in the Stephanie Plum series (duh)   Rating A   Stephanie's ex-husband Dickie Orr can still push her buttons.  She tries to avoid contact with him, especially as he is having a fling with her arch-rival Joyce Barnhardt.  She only went to his office as a favor to Ranger, who needed a "bug" planted.  The trip had enough disaster potential that in addition to Lula, office manager Connie went along.  They pretended to need help forming a business, but when Stephanie saw a family heirloom, she got a tad irritated. ... review »

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm sure i've said this before, but this series just gets funnier and funnier with each book! i read this book so fast that i did't even have time to put it on currently reading list, it just went straight to my read list. i laughed the whole way through the book. but, i made a big no-no reading this book. i read the first, second, and third, and then skipped to this book because some one wanted to read it. so i'm a bit lost. when did stephanie and morelli finally hook up? when did stephanie find out where ranger lives? WHEN DID STEPHANIE AND RANGER HOOK UP? that suprised... review »

Stephanie Plum and her crew never fail to delight and entertain me. She is always in trouble, having her cars blown up and being rescued by one of the daring men in her life.

Her family is zany and unusual, from her Mom who constantly prays for her to her Grandmother who encourages her and tries to join in on her ventures.

The men in her life are both dreamboats who constantly make it impossible for her to resist either.

It just doesn't get much better than Janet E. I will be watching for number 14 !

If I could spend one day in her shoes, my days would never again be the same!  I think that Janet must have one heck of an imagination to be able to dream up a life for someone to live like this!!! Grandma is my all time favorite character in this book.  I just love all the scenes she gets herself into!!!  She can make me laugh no matter what kind of mood I am in!

I read Janet's books inbetween my more serious books, Debbie McComber, James Patterson or John Grisham! They are great breaks!  I have not found a bad series yet!

I have read all 13 books and I can`t wait for the next one. They are all the funniest books i have ever read. Grandma has got to be the craziest granny around. If you love to laugh then you should read this series. You will be rolling on the floor. My mom my sister and I all read all of them. Personally I think Stephanie should marry Ranger. He sounds hot!!!! As in sizzling hot. When I first started to read this series i was kind of sceptical but as i kept going it got funnier and funnier. I just couldn`t put the book down. I hope 14 comes out soon.

Stephanie Plum books are great for good light reads. They make you feel good when you read them. The humor is outstanding and I love the characters. It is one of the few series that I wait for a new book to be released. Janet Evanovich is a very talented writer. Not only do things blow up a lot in these books but the characters are far from boring. I recommend starting from the beginning and reading each one so as not to miss one exciting moment in the never dull life of Stephanie Plum. And don't forget the between the series books!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Plum series.  I ran across it by accident.  In a book store they had books on tape and found number one in the clearance bin for $5.00.  Thought what the heck and bought it. It was the best 5 bucks I ever spent.  I am now a Plum Fanatic.  Great Characters, Great Story Lines and whole lot of laughs.  Oh to have a Ranger looking after me!!  Would hate to be her insurance company though!! :)

this is the latest installment of one of those series that you don't want to end, so as soon as i heard this one was out, i tried to buy no luck, all sold out, got on the library waiting list, no luck.  i was able to borrow this book and once i did sat down and read it in about 2 hours from front to back.  as usual Mrs. E's writing style was funny, make you laugh out loud and when you finish it, it is with regret as it is the last one...
