Lean Mean Thirteen  —

Harry Potter fans have looked forward to summer for their reading. A group of "Plum" fans also look forward to summer. This is when Janet Evanovich's latest book about Stephanie Plum comes out. Lean Mean Thirteen is a crazy and fun read as Stephanie, a Jersey girl, is an unconventional bounty hunter in a love triangle with two gorgeous men. She has a wacky grandmother, a pet hamster, and an adventurous coworker named Lula who used to be a prostitute. While causing destruction and meeting offbeat characters, Stephanie usually has crimes to solve in the books. In this book, she is the murder suspect. I have read all thirteen books(there is a number in every title), and I see Stephanie and company as part of my summers. As a long-time reader, I have to admit the love triangle is getting tiresome, making me want to shout, "Just pick one, for Pete's sake!" Despite that, I highly recommend the series. New readers might want to start with the first book, but I think this book stands alone. Just don't take it seriously and go along for the ride. Be sure to buckle up because Stephanie's cars are always destroyed!

I still haven't read "13" yet. I love the Stephanie Plum series; I rented them all from my library and of course "13" is never in. I can't wait to read it. Nice to see another Plum fan!
