Ahoy there!  Here comes another great "Comfort Classic" -- Lean Cuisine Roasted Turkey & Vegetables a/k/a/ Roasted Turkey Tenderloins with Mushroom Gravy, Green Beans and Red Peppers.  I have learned to be cautious in heating up these frozen entrees and so was careful to check the progress after the minimum heating time.  As a result, the turkey and gravy was tender and tasty but what really stole the show was the green beans which had the taste and texture of steamed green beans fresh out of somebody's garden.  This dish was not overwhelming in size but what there was of it made me want to gobble, gobble!

More Good News:

Contents of this 8 oz. package constitute a single serving containing only 150 calories with 45 calories from fat.  There are five grams total fat, one gram saturated fat, zero trans fat, one and a half gram polyunsaturated fat, two grams monounsaturated fat, 25 mg. cholesterol, 650 mg. sodium, 510 mg. potassium, 12 grams total carbs, three grams dietary fiber, four grams sugars, and 15 grams protein.  There are also 10% (D.V.) each Vitamin A and Vitamin C, 6% calcium, and 4% iron.

TASTE TIP:

I enjoyed a nice cold can of Campbell's Tomato Juice with this and a bunch of red grapes for dessert.

If I remember correctly it's pickled tomatoes with a certain seasoning that made them unique. Hope I'm right - it's been awhile since I thought about them.

My grandmother used glass mason jars for her pickled beets and pickles and others including something called "picklelillies" Not sure if that's spelled right. My mother loves them. Ever try 'em?

My Grandma had the crocks too but hers contained pickled corn and beets. ;)

Funny. I enjoy your humor in your reviews. I enjoyed reading your comments with KidKansas. Brought back memories of when I learned canning from my grandmother and mother as a little girl. This Lean Cuisine looks tasty but they should know better by now about the sodium. Oh well, glad you enjoyed it.

My grandmothers used to be great cooks too. My one grandma had a nice cool little fruit cellar which always smelled so good. She had a great crabapple tree in her back yard and would put up tons of jars of both plain and spiced crabapples, plus peaches and tomatoes, and there was a big stone crock where delicious sauerkraut was always "making".

I miss her canned kale and green beans the most! She was an excellent canner and cook. ;)
