During the last Lean Cuisine sale at Dominick's, I paused during the frenzy of throwing products into my cart and gazed at the "Spa Cuisine Classic" in my feverish grasp -- Lean Cuisine Chicken Pecan.  My respect for the people in the Stouffer's kitchens dipped a little as I thought "They must be NUTS!"  I decided to give the product a try but did not hold out much hope for the experiment since I expected the entree to be profoundly sweet and sticky.  Well, I was WRONG -- if it took a crazy person to dream up Lean Cuisine Chicken Pecan than thank goodness for the creative maniacs of this world.  This superb dish featuring roasted chicken tenderloins in a savory pecan sauce, with snap peas and brown rice was delicious and not too sweet.  It appears that the sauce was made from honey and chicken broth, among other things, and was delightful (and I have pretty high standards for Oriental type food, which I considered this to be).

STATS:

The contents of a 9 oz. package is one serving containing 260 calories with 50 calories from fat.  There are six grams total fat (one gram saturated fat, zero trans fat, two grams polyunsaturated fat, and three grams monounsaturated fat), 30g. cholesterol, 690 mg. sodium, 440 mg. potassium, 32 grams total carbs, four grams dietary fiber, six grams sugars, and 19 grams protein.  An added attraction:  35% (D.V.) Vitamin A, 6% each Vitamin C and Iron, and 4% Calcium.

TASTE TIP:

I heated this only three minutes, waited for it to cool a little, and sprinkled it with a scant half teaspoon or so of Less Sodium Kikkoman Soy Sauce because it is my habit to do so with Oriental food and (let's face it) not because it needed any enhancing.  I topped off with a dish of fresh watermelon sprinkled with Newman's Own "Lighten Up" Raspberry Walnut Dressing.
