Most HelpfulI really love Lay's baked potato chips. They are - duh- baked, but this does make a big difference. The fat is only 3% of the daily allowance, and the cholesterol is 0% (which is what I'm supposed to watch). Plus, the salt only checks in at 8% for the day. Granted you don't get a huge boost on your vitamins or minerals with chips, but these don't do near as much damage as most.
These chips are crisp and have a lot of taste including a salt taste even with low salt. I guess potato is the key taste, and I love potatoes in any form except a lot of potato salads which are too heavy on mayo and just...
review »When these chips first came out I thought they'd be like every other "diet" food out there and taste like cardboard. I was very surprised when I accidentally picked these up instead of the regular ones. I actually prefer the baked ones over the fried ones now.
These baked chips are greasy at all and not as salty as the fried version. When I eat them I actually feel like I'm eating something good for me, even though I'm really not. The ingredients are high quality and worth the little bit extra it costs to buy these instead of the fattening version.
The single serve bags are great for portion...
review »I love Baked Lays. Not the barbeque, or the sour cream and onion. Just the plain Baked Lays. In my opinion, they are the tastiest plain chip. They're crispy and salty, without being greasy. I buy them for myself and my husband, because they're a healthy alternative to regular chips. But they're so good, my kids love them too. Which is great because it's better for them, but it hurts the pocketbook because they are ridiculously expensive.
I don't understand why eating healthy has to be so costly. Baked Lays are a good example of this. I typically pay over $ 3.00 for one bag of Baked...
review »I've been noshing on Baked Lays products ever since they were first introduced. I seldom buy them anymore because the husband and I will polish off the largest bag available in no time flat. ;) While fewer in calories and less in fat grams, these baked chips still cause a bit of gastrointestinal difficulty if you overindulge.
And if it's it's a crunchfest, you can be certain I'll overindulge.
These crisps haven't the same texture as a regular (high-fat) chip, so buy them knowing this right up if you're a regular potato chip fan. If you simply can't stand them, I'm pretty sure you can find a neighbor...
