Law and Order Review Summary

Law and Order has been around for quite awhile, yet reviewers still feel that "ripped from the headlines, the original recipe still rules." The stars of the show have changed over the past nearly two decades, including when Jerry Orbach died, but the focus of the show has remained on half of it being on the detective work for a case and the other half being on the trial. Some reviewers confess to being "Law and Order addicts," watching the first run and repeat episodes as well as the spinoffs of Law and Order: SVU and Law and Order Criminal Intent. It's an "outstanding show that is very well-written" and one that "never grows old." Law and Order is "hands down the 'daddy' of crime shows."

When he first developed Law and Order, I wonder if Dick Wolf had any idea that he would be changing the face of television for years to come? Today, the formula seems simple, but way back when this show first aired, it was revolutionary: devote half of every episode to the police work involved in making a collar, and half to the legal work involved in prosecuting the suspect. Never before had tv viewers been walked through legal cases from commission of crime, to police investigation, to building a prosecution case to courtroom drama. It was a brilliant idea, and it still is.

For my money, L&O...

I have spent the past 3 years watching L&O reruns, going between Criminal Intent (which I think has REALLY gone downhill), SVU and the original L&O. I must watch atleast 6 episodes per night and I think that maybe I should cool it now for a while since the other night I woke my boyfriend up in his sleep and actually read him his Miranda rights...Jeez!
I have to wonder why they are always having "Marathons on but then they will show 4 episodes and then start over with the same 4 episodes, don't they realize that those of us who are settling in for a Marathon actually do have the time to sit through...

I love all of the Law & Order shows. Everyone keeps you guessing, most of the time until the very end. I feel that after watching this show for a few years, I should be able to figure out who done it and why every time, but this show really keeps the outcome fresh.

The program is much better with the addition of Chris North.  He plays a much more level character since in came back from his exile in Staton Island.  And, he does not cock his head to one side while trying to "psych out" the suspect.  However I prefer the other female lead than the one that is matched with him.  She seems to be the more grounded on of the other pair.  Don't really understand why is was pulled from prime time and put on cable.  I have found some of the newer episodes on cable to be among the best of the series.

Law & Order is a great show if you like crime dramas. The acting is good and the way they use familiar stories and give them a twist is very entertaining. Law & Order was almost canceled this year but luckily it was given another chance to gain popularity and ratings. I used to watch it occasionally but since they've added Jeremy Sisto to the cast, I'll definitely be watching weekly. Hopefully, I'll be one of many to tune in and this season's ratings will be good enough to keep the show off the chopping block for many seasons to come.

Jack McCoy is the man.  I love to see him in action.  I enjoy watching him give his absolute all to get the bad guy.  After all, it's always personal with Jack when it comes to breaking the law.  He is dedicated, with a well established moral compass.  I find his character very admirable.  I have been a fan of Sam's for a long time.  I like to see how it all plays out, from the crime to the punishment.  This show never grows old for me.  I watch both the new shows as well as the reruns with equal zeal.

Law and Order have been around a long time and I have enjoyed it all the years it has been entertaining me. There are so many reasons to watch; excellent stars, lots of action and the story lines never end. I will watch show after show and I love the marathons no matter which Law and Order it is I watch them all. I am very glad they came up with this show and I hope they will continue to provide me with action and drama.

Law and Order is the original "Crime Series". It combines the criminal show with the prosecution show. Very few topics are off limits. It entertains and presents sensetive material without being vulger or the typical suggestive lines most of these shows have. The acting is great and the plots are presented in a very entertaining manner. It is well worth the time to watch.

I find the show Law & Order the most current show on the air and enjoy how they weave 2 or 3 story lines into 1 story. However, I do not like the chemistry between the 2 new detectives on the show. I KNOW change is ineviable.  I especially like that the DA is Sam Waterston and now he knows what it is like to have to balance politics with the need to uphold the law.

LAW AND ORDER HAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY FAVORITE SHOW.   I DO HAVE MY FAVORITES.  SOME OF THE CHARACTERS HOLD AN EXTRA SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART.   LAW AND ORDER GOT MY STUCK FROM THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED IT.  MY DAUGHTER IS 7,  IS AN AVID WATCHER TOO.  MAYBE SHE WILL GROW UP TO BE A LAWYER AND PUT THE BAD GUY AWAY.  GREAT SHOW.

Law and Order is another one of my favorite shows. I find it humerous because you can see how the writers have taken actual events, changed the details a bit, and created a show around it. I think the actors do an excellent job, although I do miss those that have left. They aren't quite synching as a team yet, but I'm sure they will. This program is worth buying on DVD.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent is by far my favorite out of all the Law & Order series.  Detectives Goren & Eames are matched perfectly & offset each other brilliantly.  The addition of Chris Noth added another strong character to the show.  If you like twisted plots with unexpected outcomes, then this show is for you.

shows always seem to be current with today's events and a great way to debate issues.  sometimes things are brought up about an issue that may not have been realized before.  and events are brought to everyone's attention who watches the shows.  though hollywoodized, can still learn about the law and workings of a courtroom.
