Laurell K. Hamilton - Bloody Bones —

Bloody bones, for me, was one of the best Anita Blake series books, aside from Guilty Pleasures. In this book, Richard really gets to show off his power: in the bed and out. He's a very strong character and at this point, hasn't been written as some emotionally injured pansy who can't controls his actions or words. In this book, he's Richard and he's able to show his beat without Anita freaking out much. Anita is also new with the Ardour so things that she starts to do here is very new and not the usual for that appetite. So it's still interesting and not just "Oh here she is, getting her fix on which one now?" She also has a case in this book... which in the later books, gets lost to the wayside.
