A  Lick Of Frost is book six in the continuing saga of the faerie princess Meredith Gentry by the very prolific writer Laurell K. Hamilton. This book quickly picks up right where the last story ended but is even more enjoyable and well focused. I found it to be a delightful read filled with lots of... review »

As an avid reader mainly in sci-fi and fantasy fiction I was somewhat disappointed. I wanted to like this book - really I did. This book is boring. I usually devour books. This book I could barely get through one chapter a night, and it's a ridiculously short book. There is so much prose wasted on the... review »

I love Laurell K. Hamilton. I am reading both Of her series and can't wait for the book to come out on the self so I can grab it up and find out what is happening next in the lives of Meredith, who is in line to become Princess of the Fairies. Which is the series "A Lick of Frost" is part of.

The storyline is that Meredith and her cousin are in a fight of sorts for the thorn of the kingdom, whomever Meredith getting pregnant or her cousin getting someone prgnant first wins and gets the seat. As they are going for the high seat there are twists and turns within the storyline. Meredith's life...

This book was the best yet of the Merry Gentry series.  I was hungry for more after and can't wait for the next book.  Laurell K Hamilton has a way of making you want more and  more.  Her work takes me to other worlds that give my mind a vacation and make me relax into another world to enjoy.  Every book keeps getting better.  Princess Meridith and her men make a person glad to be in the land of Farie and compell you to root for them in their race against the wicked queen Andias, queen of the unseelie court and the king of the other world, the seelie court King Tarnis.  The author has... review »

I'm a real fan of anything Laurell K. Hamilton, but there's been a real trend of late with the Merry Gentry books. This trend is to have a rather messed up time frame where too much happens in what appears to be only one to two days. It makes it look like she wrote this long book and then broke it up into pieces to make them shorter or to have longer breaks from writing. Even with all that I can't help but be immersed in the world of her characters and root for Merry to get pregnant (something I can't say I've ever done for anyone) and take over the crown before her cousin. I have high hopes that... review »

I loved this book! The Merrie series is in my opinion her best series. I esp. like Merries men and how they interact with her. There is more action in this book then in her others in this series. The only thing that saddened me is that the series is almost over with.

Laurell K has been spinning us into her web of fantasy for years now. I can't wait for the next book. I read them so fast and then I am left wanting. Always left on the edge of your seat waiting to see where the story will lead you.
