Quick View: This lip stain is amazingly subtle and pretty. It goes on like a balm but wears like a stain. I am fast becoming a Laura Mercier cosmetics fans!

About Laura Mercier Lip Stain

This little pot of color looks like an ordinary lip balm. There several colors from very light to very deep. I chose Mocha because I am leaning toward browns at the moment and this is a light, fresh brown that really flatters. The .21 ounce pot of color is in a simple container with a screw on/off lid that looks like any ole balm. It can be applied with fingers or a brush. I use a brush because I don't like to get my fingers in balms and get bacteria in them if I can helpĀ  it. The finish is like a balm. It feels soothing and dewy, not at all like typical lip stains that are dry and make my lips wrinkled.

This stain is medium pigmented and is not ultra sheer. It isn't thick and gooey either. It glides on and stays on for hours. It is the perfect meld between lip balm/gloss and lip stain. My color lasts for about six hours or more and that is with drinking. Eating will make this wear off some but it doesn't wear off in patches or look bad as it fades. This is really good stuff!

My Viewpoint

This lip stain is everything I want in a lip color. Pretty shades, long wear, dewy, shiny, and just enough color to be flattering without looking to "done". A winner in my book even at the steep price of $20.00. 5 stars.

Oh. This sounds great. I'd need a lighter color. You would laugh if you ever saw me in the more extreme shades.
