If traveling CHEAP is your goal follow what my husband and I do when we plan over yearly (or twice a year) trips to LAS VEGAS. We have been going to Vegas for the past 13 years and there is something new each trip. First, my hubby searches for the best airfare directly from the airline website. From Wisconsin we have found Midwest Airline to be the best. Once you get to Las Vegas, sign up for the PLAYER's CARDS!!!! I can't stress this enough. After our first couple of trips, we started getting hotel offers by the truckloads. Now we NEVER pay for hotels. there are times when we move from one hotel to another midway during our stay but it is worth the hassle for FREE rooms! Find a few casinos that you love and play at their machines the most to earn the most comps. We also get offers for free slot tournaments, free meals, free shows and personal host/hostess services like express check-in, free limo service and all the perks associated with "HIGH-ROLLERS". We are just penny and nickle slot players and are by no means rich! Also, we have found the CAT transit (bus) service is the only way to move around this huge city. You can get a 24 hour all access pass and ride the bus anywhere it goes in the city. We were able to go to some of the outlying casinos to experience them as well. They are clean, well-monitored (the transients have gotten the boot!) safe, and far cheaper than taxis or car rentals. Also an option for some free cash is the timeshare presentations. If you have an hour or two to kill (and can say NO) you can get free casino money, free show tickets and other gifts just for sitting through one of these. We LOVE Vegas and now that there is only the 2 of us.....it is our only vacation destination!
