Dell Inspiron 1521 Laptop

I'm a college student and I got my Dell Inspiron 1521 for all my school needs. I don't use my computer for anything fancy; mostly word proccessing and music, but it gets the job done. For the price of this laptop compared to other brands, it's a great value. It also comes in all sorts f colors (mine is yellow!). The one downside is the only opperating system offered is Vista, but once you get used to it and work out the kinks, it's a non-issue. If your computer is your life and you need to use a lot of RAM and complicated programs, consider an upgrade, but for this college kid, it works… read full review »

That really is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 — The battery life is just now beginning to shorten...which is upsetting, but i still love love love this laptop! — Buy the Inspiron E1505!!! —… read full review »

I bought this VAIO laptop about a month ago and I love it. I haven't had any problems at all. The set up was super easy. I took it out of the box and within a hour I had it ready to connect to the internet. I got rid of some of the software that was included with the computer but I kept some. People have complained about Vista but I haven't had any problems so far. Also I've heard people complain that laptops heat up fast and get very hot. This Vaio is great. I've kept it on for 6 hours straight and it barely warms up. I don't even need a cool down pad. As far as battery life is… read full review »

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop ( in Ruby red) in October of 2007 and no sooner did I take it out of the box, then it did not work. It was supposed to have a dvd player, but this did not work. Of course I called Dell and they had me stay on the phone for two hours trying to fix the problem. I dare say I am learning to be a techie, because they went over the same steps over and over and over. Finally, the tech suggested I get an RMA and return it because the problem was not able to be solved. After waiting 3 weeks, I recieved the laptop back and used it From February to June. Then more… read full review »

I have had my laptop for about 4 months now and I have had very little problems with it. I use it mostly for internet use but have also used it for pictures and games. The customer service department was slow but they fixed the problems I was having so I guess I can't complain too much. If you just use the computer for internet use then this is a great… read full review »

Switching from PC to Mac is hard, but I figured with Vista this was as good a time as any. I bought a white MacBook. I've enjoyed the various editing programs, but I did get Office for Mac to make compatibility a bit less of an issue. It's cute, it's fun, it's everything that Mac promised it would be. But you have to commit. Bootcamp may let you run Windows, but it severely limits the harddrive space. And buy during the back-to-school sales so you can get the best… read full review »

JUL

The Dell XPS M1530 exceeds my expectations of what a laptop is capable of. I've always been a desktop user, but found that I needed to branch out for my business. I was skeptical of laptops and always followed the notion that they are not as fast, capable, or reliable as a desktop. Boy - was I wrong! This laptop is better than any desktop I've ever owned! — — The reason why I chose this laptop was because I am a graphic designer and I needed something that would allow me to illustrate my designs at top speed. I also use a variety of CAD software (since I am an event planner) and… read full review »

My son has used a Dell Inspiron 1505E for two years at law school. The Bar exam is in July and as of one week before the exam the battery won't charge. Seeking Tech assistance from Dell, he was informed that this computer has battery/motherboard problems, repairable only by installing a new motherboard. The Bar does not allow changes to the computer certified for the exam. My son is left to worry about if the power crashes because the computer shuts down immediately. We cannot change the motherboard as that would require reloading the Exam software, which is not allowed. This has caused… read full review »

The Dell Inspiron 600m is my workhorse. I use it at school (I'm a teacher) as my desk computer and at home into the night . It is light, great screen size and durable. I can interchange the floppy drive with a DVD/CD drive in a moment. I don't know what I would do without it.… read full review »
