My mom bought the Dell Inspiron 15 back in March of this year[2009]. Both her and I are the main users of it and both of us have noticed some good things and bad things about this laptop. It is a bit on the heavyside which can take a toll on your back if your lugging it around in a case for work or college. This is my third Mac...my first way back in college. Of course, being in education, most of the computers in the classrooms/computer labs were Macs until recently. I had a MacBook Pro just prior to the one I am on now. I am not a professional so the MacBook Pro had too much graphical power for what I needed. I paid for more than I would ever use. Toshiba Sattelite L505
Purchased the Toshiba Sattelite L505 from Office Depot before Windows 7 was released. Toshiba sent the upgrade swiftly and at no cost to me. I was not entirely happy with Vista's performance on the laptop, though I can't say that I've yet found a computer running Vista that I've been thrilled with. As such, I loaded a copy of Ubuntu onto it, and it runs great! The Dell Inspirion I purchased has been the best computer that I have owned, and I have owned several. Mine is a laptop in candy apple red and it is small enough to fit on the corner of my desk. I appreciate the portability of it as it can be fitted into a briefcase with ease. Dell has also allowed for the personilization of the laptop with the color design. Apple Mac Book Pro
What Can I say? This laptop is simply amazing. First, you should consider the looks. Though this is not important, it is simply stunning. Next, we go to speed. With 4 gigabytes of RAM, there is simply nothing putting the brakes on this laptop. Also beneficial is the built in airport, which allows you to connect to wireless internet. Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop
I bought the Dell to replace my old laptop. I have had it now for about 3 months and I am still not sure I really like it.
It is definately not as user friendly as I was lead to believe. I have trouble with the mousepad on the unit and will probably end up using an external mouse. Does not run as fast as I thought it would either.

Macintosh MacBook Pro 15"
All I can say is W-O-W. This laptop is insane!!! It's so nice to look at and the keys are easy to type with. I bought a protector for my key pad and it works great :) This is definitely a computer worth the money; my brother bought one for college and he loves it too. The mouse is a little bit different than what you're used to though- it has one big flat panel and one full bar (instead of two separate ones) to click with- but you get used to it quite quickly. Sony VAIO VGN-SZ450N/C PC Notebook
I have been using my VAIO SZ for about 4 years now. I dont play games or do anything too intensive on the computer. Photoshop is probably as hardcore as I get. So I think my computer is not as abused as others out there. So potential buyers, keep this in mind when I say that my VAIO SZ runs pretty smoothly and fast. My friend has a similar one and she really dislikes it because it hangs all the time. She was really disappointed because the laptop unit is so expensive! I love my laptop. The price was right, and I though the laptop was great until it locked up almost every time I was using it. I could not complete a task on the computer without it locking up. I had the software reloaded, and it is doing great now!
The mouse pad is sometimes difficult to use. It takes some pressure to get the mouse to move.
Also, the laptop is ahrd to transport. I enjoy my large screen, but it is difficult to carry. The laptop is also pretty heavy to tote for long distances.
If you are picky about fingerprints, this may not be the laptop for you. The fingerprints...

HP Comapq Compaq NC 6140
Ok, I may not know everything bout this computer but I do know that I REALLY like it. It's a small laptop, small enough for me and my lap isn't quite as long. It's not like those tiny tiny laptops that practically fit in the palm of your hand.This laptop is extremely lightweight to where I can carry it with one hand. The screen is no overly huge either. I like it. I believe it's a 15" screen. It has several memory card slots, I'm still trying to figure out all of them, but I know for sure it has a SD slot. It also had 4 usb ports. My husbad and I had been shopping for a laptop for him for some time. We shopped around at different stores and then we went to Staples and found our Acer. I told him he could have his pick and he chose the acer because it had 120 g hard drive and a 14 inch screen. He put his fingers on the key board and it was a nice fit. This is the best laptop I have ever owned or used. Coming from a Windows program, it was difficult at first to learn the navigation of a Mac, but it was well worth it. We have not had errors like we did with the other system. It is also kid-friendly.

I love this computer. I love that I was able to choose the color and exactly how my computer was made. I got to put what I wanted on it and then what I did not want or need I did not need I just did not add it.
