a must have for breast feeding

5

When I had my first baby I tried to breast feed and it hurt my nipples so bad it almost brought me to tears. My nipples were cracking and so sore so that even my shirt brushing against my breast hurt. I gave up breast feeding when it got so bad I couldn't take the pain. When I had my second child the nurse in the birthing center asked me if I wanted to try breast feeding and I told her what had previously happened and that I would but I couldn't stand to think of going through all of that again. She explained that using lansinoh with lanolin breast cream would alleviate all of that if I chose to try again. She went and got me a sample sized tube to let me try it out and I was able to breast feed successfully. It stopped all of the cracking and all that pain I experienced with my first child. I was able to comfortably breast feed while using this. I used it a lot and kept them covered with a small layer of lansinoh and it made the biggest difference. I recommend everyone who chooses to breast feed to try this especially when their baby is having latching problems which causes more soreness of untreated nipples. Not everyone has problems with this but I recommend getting a tube in case. It's good to use anyway even without already having issues. It keeps your skin in great condition and also adds a protective layer between the skin and breast pads. I used this cream along with lansinoh breast pads and it was a much more comfortable experience. The tubes are a decent size that lasts a while. It's not really a cream as much an ointment which stays on the skin better. I would never try to breast feed again without using this because it was a life saver in Every way. I highly recommend using this and its worth every penny to not have pain when breast feeding.

This product was a lifesaver through nursing both of my babies.

First I would like to point out that breastfeeding, unlike everyone claims, did not come natural to me. It was a real struggle with my first baby. My baby had serious latching issues and even after meetings with a lactation consultant the issues continued. Luckily the lactation consultant recommended Lansinoh Lanolin Breast Cream. It was a life saver. My breast were so sensitive and sore to the point in which when it was time to nurse i began to dread it. After i began using the lanolin cream there was a huge improvement. It began healing my cracked nipples after a few short uses and made nursing much more comfortable. I used this product around the clock after every single feeding. It was a life saver. After 3 months of nursing my little one finally got the hang of it and I no longer needed to use the cream, but i have to say I don't know if I would have gotten that far without it. The only thing I didn't like about it was that is was thick and quite oily. I had to use breast pads when I used the cream so that it didn't get all over my clothing.

Works miracles!

I was given a sample of Lansinoh Lanolin Breast Cream when my first child was born. She had difficulty latching, which was very painful for me. The lanolin did a great job of keeping me lubricated and from chapping so badly. But, in addition to the obvious breastfeeding benefits of lanolin, I would like to add other uses. When my little ones get chapped faces or noses from colds, I clean there face really well and apply a little bit of lanolin. Doing that a couple of times a day clears up their skin quickly. And, I don't worry about them rubbing their face and getting it in their mouths or eyes as it is safe for babies. I have also used it on my dry chapped hands and it moisturizes and heals my skin quickly. I keep a tube of it handy, especially during the winter months when skin gets dry and noses get runny. One downside to using it on your face and hands is that it is a little bit greasy and gives your skin a little shine to it.

This was given to me at the hospital when my youngest was first born. I was starting to have discomfort and dryness and peeling on my nipples. After the first use of this cream it helped so much! I was so relieved to have gotten this product! It definitely is a must if you are just starting out with breastfeeding!

Protect Your Breast!

Breastfeed a baby is a difficult endeavor and for new moms, the journey can be filled downright painful and painful feeding sessions. I had a similar experience at first, nursing my child with cracked or chapped nipples because my skin was not used to the constant friction; it tales time for the skin on the nipple to toughen or get used to the feeding demands. To sooth and ease those aches and pains, I started using Lansinoh Laniline Breast Cream. After the first application, I could feel the difference when my daughter nursed. This product helped my nipples heal between feedings and assisted with soothing the soreness cause by the continuous tugging while nursing. It is also 100% safe for baby, so you don't need to wipe it off when baby is ready to eat again. Additional, I used the product on my baby's face where it would get a little red or irritated due to slobbering or getting chapped in cold weather. It works wonders.

Love Lansinoh!

I had a baby six months ago and used the Lansinoh Breast Cream a whole lot at first. Even if you think you won't need it, the Lansinoh Breast Cream is a great product to have on hand just in case. The gentle nature of Lansinoh Breast Cream is what I really like about this product. It does not have a harsh smell or chemical feel to it. It is very thick and petroleum jelly like and goes on very smoothly. It is perfectly safe for your breastfeeding baby to come in contact with, so there is nothing to worry about on that end. If you have sore or cracked nipples, the Lansinoh Breast Cream really soothes the pain and makes it bearable for the baby to latch on. Definitely give this a try if you are having problems. Don't give up breastfeeding because of the pain or hurt if you have not tried Lansinoh Breast Cream. It really does help! You can use it how ever often you need to which is great.

Love in a tube for the ladies.

Does the job perfectly. Makes my ladies feel so much better. After pumping and breastfeeding all day a little bit of this gives such relief. I first got this as a baby shower gift and after the first week of breastfeeding this saved me from quitting.

A great breastfeeding aid

Breastfeeding for the first time can be a real challenge.  Your body is still recovering from the trauma of childbirth, you're suffering from extreme lack of sleep, you're worried that you're doing things wrong, etc.  The last thing you need is painful, cracked nipples.  Ouch! When I had my first baby, I almost quit nursing because I thought my son wasn't getting enough milk.  It didn't help that my mother and mother-in-law distrusted breastfeeding and encouraged me to use formula (which was recommended by pediatricians in their day).  It also didn't help that my baby wanted to nurse every hour around the clock, and my nipples hurt badly. If it wasn't for Lansinoh, I probably would have quit after about a month.  But this product really delivered.  I was dubious at first, since the consistency is thick & viscous, and the smell is quite unpleasant.  I couldn't wait to clean it off my fingers after applying it.  I thought my son wouldn't nurse if I had this stuff on.  But surprisingly, he didn't seem to notice it at all.  I started using it after each feeding, leaving my nursing flaps open so I could air-dry.  It really helped with the soreness, and with the pain gone, I stopped dreading each feeding.  My milk supply increased, and I went on to breastfeed my son for 2 years. My second child was born during the winter, and even though I was a pro at breastfeeding by then, I still had problems with nipple soreness/cracking due to the dry weather.  Lansinoh to the rescue again!  With my 3rd child, I made sure I had a tube before I gave birth.  That time, the hospital where I gave birth actually gave out a tube to every new mom. It's kind of expensive, but a little goes a long way.  Even though I used it after every feeding, I never even got close to using up a whole tube.  If you can get past the somewhat unpleasant consistency and smell, it works wonders.  It's a small price to pay for the great gift of breastfeeding, in my opinion.

Great for sore breasts and other ailments.

My mother gave me a tube with my first. I used it all up! This is a great healing ointment. Lanisoh Lanolin Breast Cream was a life saver the first month of nursing and was religiously applied daily and touched up when needed (due to it's thick consistancy that wasn't too frequent). Excellent for sore and achy nipples. So soothing to apply. Worked wonders when my second child got teeth and started biting. Now that I'm not having any nursing problems (until baby 3 gets some teeth) I have been looking for other uses. Excellent for chapped skin. Love to apply to my nose when I have a cold. I have used it like Neosporin on a couple small burns. My only complaints (like everyone else) are the price and the super thick consistancy. Being so thick you have to rub it between your fingers to get it warmed up and pliable. I had to wipe off my fingers with a napkin and wash with soap to get it all off. Definately want to use nursing pads to keep it off your clothes.
