Lansinoh Lanolin Breast Cream Review Summary

Nursing moms need comfort and our reviewers recommend Lansinoh Lanolin as a remedy for sore, dry, cracked nipples due to breastfeeding discomfort. This cream is good for all kinds of dry, cracked skin from rosy cheeks to sore noses. Slvashley says, “I have most of the tube left, so I've been using it on my little one's chapped cheeks (drool!) and nose (colds!), and once or twice on my own cuts and it works great to soothe and protect, and doesn't sting. “ However, it can be difficult to get it out of the tube and be sure to use nursing pads as it can stain your favorite nursing bra. Nateporter55 says, “I feel like breastfeeding has given my babies a great start in life, and I can thank Lansinoh for making that possible! This product is also approved by the La Leche Association. I didn't need to use this stuff much after my first couple weeks of nursing, but it was great during that time!  I would, however, recommend you use breast pads with it, because it got greasy stains on one of my favorite nursing bra/tanks (which thankfully came out in about 10 washes).

Now that I don't need it for nursing, I have most of the tube left, so I've been using it on my little one's chapped cheeks (drool!) and nose (colds!), and once or twice on my own cuts and it works great to soothe and protect, and doesn't sting.  Also, a little goes a long way.

The only complaints I have about...

Lansinoh lanolin has been a life saver for me!! I have had three babies in four years, so my poor breasts have been breastfeeding an infant for 48 months straight.  They were battered and bruised until Lansinoh lanolin!!!

Lansinoh is the best remedy for sore, dry, cracked nipples due to breastfeeding discomfort. The Lansinoh helped my nipples heal faster, which in turn helped me nurse my children longer. I feel like breastfeeding has given my babies a great start in life, and I can thank Lansinoh for making that possible!

This is a life saving product! I started to apply it in the morning and at night before I had my baby. I'm not sure if that helped any but it was recommended from a friend. I used it for the first week or two after our daughter was born. It helped with the soreness and cracking and was a saving grace!  I would certainly recommend it to any mom who is breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding can be beautiful but it can also be brutal. Although I had a bit of the brutal end of breastfeeding, I was able to breastfeed each of my three daughters for over a year and lived to enjoy the beautiful side of breastfeeding. However, there were times when I had cracked nipples that bled and led to mastitis and intraductal yeast that I wondered what on earth I was doing and I found Lansinoh Lanolin to be quite helpful.

Here's what I like about Lansinoh Lanolin:

  • helps to heal and soothe sore nipples (I later discovered that the baby had her lip tucked under when feeding and a lactation...

My lactation consultant had recommended this product to me during my first time breastfeeding my son.  I would never breastfeed another baby without this product.  Not only did it heal my already sore/cracked nipples it prevented that from happening again.  This product is wonderful.  I love that you don't have to worry about taking it off to feed your baby.  It is completely safe to have on during a feeding.  While I agree it can be a pain to get out of the tube it really is a blessing to have on hand.  A little goes a long way so the cost is not bad considering how long a tube will last...

My mother gave me a tube with my first. I used it all up! This is a great healing ointment. Lanisoh Lanolin Breast Cream was a life saver the first month of nursing and was religiously applied daily and touched up when needed (due to it's thick consistancy that wasn't too frequent).

Excellent for sore and achy nipples. So soothing to apply. Worked wonders when my second child got teeth and started biting.

Now that I'm not having any nursing problems (until baby 3 gets some teeth) I have been looking for other uses. Excellent for chapped skin. Love to apply to my nose when I have a cold. I have...

Being a new mother and not knowing which products are good or not.  I am glad to know other mothers that have breastfed their babies and which products they preferred to use while raising their children.  A friend recommended Lanolin since she knew I wanted to breastfeed my child once she was born.  The hospital lactation nurses also recommended I use the product after every feeding. The first time I had to breastfeed I didn't know it would be a bit painful, but after using Lanolin it help relieve the pain and soothing the area. I love this product since it so easy to use and it's not harmful...

This lanolin works well especially during the first few days of breast feeding.  I also used before I had the baby for sore nipples, and it worked well.  You do have to warm it between your fingers to decrease the viscosity, otherwise, putting it on can be slighty annoying.  You don't have to wipe it off before the baby eats, which is nice.  It did tend to stain the inside of my clothes if I didn't use a nursing pad.  The best thing is, it doesn't smell.

My lansinoh breast cream is so nice to use after the shower. I have a busy life and have no time for pain. The cream stays on the nip even when you have the protection pads on, due to it being thick. My baby does not mind it either as she does not turn away from me when the product is on, also it does not make her sick in any way.

I used this before my son was born on my sore nipples.  I continued to use it until my milk came in and I didn't have to pump as much.  It also works great for chapped skin from nose blowing or chapped lips.

Definitely a must-have for new moms. Those first couple of weeks breastfeeding for the first time were pretty difficult on my body. Would absolutely recommend this!
