I have purchased Land O Lakes butter (and margarine) for many years now. I can always count on a smooth taste and perfect balance of goodness to spread on things, cook with, and use for everything that calls for a butter product. It is as reasonably priced as all the other butter products out there, as well.

This butter is the best overall because its quality is consistently excellent, and the price is often as low as that of the store brands. The taste is great, and I spread it on toast, cook with it by adding it to my potato soups, and making cheese sauces richer. It even makes plain foods tastier such as oatmeal and cooked rice. I use this butter to seal in moisture and flavor by brushing it melted on a turkey before roasting it. This butter has many tasty purposes!

Being in the food industry I am constantly trying new products for cooking and baking. I had always used Land 'O Lakes commercial products such as sour cream and cheese but never their butter. I was at a large supermarket which had multiple choices in dairy products, but not my usual brand of butter. I saw the Land 'O Lakes brand and decided to try it. I trust this brand for other items so I figured why not. I could tell the difference in this product right away. Butter should be fresh, slightly sweet, creamy, and enhance whatever savory or sweet recipe its in. Well, this one shines over any other brand I have ever used. It took my pasta alfredo to new heights and my snickerdoodles turned out better than ever. I was sold on it forever. It is a quality product by a reputable company. Land 'O Lakes butter is the best butter on the market without question. Also comes in an unsalted version.

Land O Lakes butter is great to bake with. I make all of my frosting and glazes with it. You really need to use real butter to make frosting or else it can slide off the cake. Land O Lakes butter has a great flavor and texture. It makes my baked goods taste even better and makes them more moist. It makes my frosting taste fabulous!

I love my baked goods just as much as I love baking them. When I am wanting to do my thing in the kitchen, I choose my ingredients carefully. I use very good ingredients for all my baking. I don't like store brands or cheap ingredients at all as I prefer to bake my goodies with the best I can for a that "Wow" taste. I use some store brands, and some are ordered through my baking magazines. But, when it comes to butter, the Land O Lakes brand is my top and only choice. I want a really creamy good tasting butter to blend in with my Domino sugars. I want the real deal. When people do a taste test between using great baking items compared to cheap ingredients there is no comparison. The best baking items such as using Land O Lakes can make a world of difference in taste. Land O Lakes Butter comes as 4 sticks. I am writing this review as my oven is warming up to get ready for some delicious cookies I am making. The measurements are on the package which tells you that 1 stick is equal to 1/2 a cup and that 2 sticks are the same as a pound. This product is made to be refridgerated. Although real butter costs more, it is a better product as you are getting the real deal. No preservatives like the margarines have. Nutrition : A serving is considered to be a Tablespoon.There are about 32 servings in the package. There is 100 calories in a serving with the fat calories being 100. Total fat is 11 grams, saturated fat is 7 grams and the trans fats are 0. Cholesterol in this product is 30 mgs. There is 95 mg of sodium in a serving. My Mother and Grandmother were famously thrifty but they always bought real butter, never margarine.  They only purchased Land of Lakes and I do too.  There are several brands of butter at my market, but LOL is my choice.  Plus you can cut out the butter package the kneeling figure is holding and tape the Indian Princess' knees under it as my brother did.  Pretty racy for the '60s.

I use butter, and I'm proud! I believe it is better to live, truly live, than to merely exist. My mom grew up in Wisconsin, and tells stories about her mom smuggling margarine into the house, mainly because it was cheaper than butter. Amazing to hear stories about a time when there was no choice. My mom remembers the invention of margarine! crazy! Anyway as far as butter goes, just like cheese and milk and eggs, there IS a noticeable difference between brands. Here at our house, we believe in saving money, but that is always tempered with the idea that some things cannot be "cheaped out" on. Butter is definitely one of those sacred things. We always buy Land O Lakes. Now, we don't use butter on everything, we buy margarine, too (Land O Lakes also, FYI) and we use it on toast and sandwiches and the like. Butter is reserved for baking and cooking certain meals. Some things just *need *butter. I suggest making a recipe both ways. Sometimes butter doesn't work, sometimes it's essential. Regardless, I recommend always using Land O Lakes brand when you use butter. The taste and texture are second to none. The price can sometimes be an issue. I suggest going online and printing coupons. We make up the difference by buying cheaper things in other categories. **Bottom Line: If you like butter, choose Land O Lakes, you really can taste the difference!**

I'm so glad that the science and medical communities have started saying it's OK to eat real butter again. Heck, I just lived dangerously before they backtracked on that, since I've seen eggs and other products come and go in terms of reputation and media coverage. I'm still waiting for them to decide candy will make me live forever. The reason I stuck with butter is because it really does taste better, and it works better in recipes - especially baked goods. There's just something about real butter that can't be duplicated. Butter is not just butter when it comes to brands either. I've bought some butters that did not taste fresh or just didn't have much flavor and I've had some that would not melt just right. Those kinds of problems never happen with Land O Lakes. It's always perfect. Whether I'm melting butter to dip grilled crab legs or making sugar cookies for the holidays, I almost always use Land O Lakes. I just look for the Indian maiden on the box or tell the boys to do so if they go pick up groceries.
