Spray me a streak! Good self tanner if you know how to use it.

Quick View

Lancome Soleil Flash Bronzer Colour Instant Dry Spray Self Tan for Body is too difficult for me to use but the color is natural and the scent is bearable. If you are used to spray tanners, you may like this one. I just couldn't get the hang of it.

The Sordid Details

I really like Lancôme's Flash Bronzer for Legs so I tried their Lancome Soleil Flash Bronzer Colour Instant Dry Spray Self Tan for Body to see if that would work as well. Let's just say that I am not as good at this self-tanning thing as others and things didn't work out well although I believe this product is a good one despite my issues with it.

Well? Did it Work?

The spray dried in seconds! It's a dry spray, not greasy or oily, nor does it drip. The mist is very fine. The scent is not bad although it has the usual self tanner odor mixed in with something fresh. I took a cosmetic sponge and lightly evened out the spray to avoid streaks. I did my arms and chest then asked hubby dearest to do my back. I dressed in loose clothing and went to bed. The next day, I did, indeed, have a tan. No orange at all. But oh, my - streaks! I guess I didn't apply as evenly as I thought. My wrists and backs of my hands looked ghastly but my arms actually looked OK. My chest was passable (So many jokes I could insert here but won't.) but my back, which I didn't even out with a sponge was streaky.

The color wasn't too dark but quite a change from my regular skin tone. Although it wasn't orange, it really didn't look 100% real either. Possibly that was because it was streaky. I tried again but the fact is, I am self tanner disabled. I can't get any of it to work really well and spraying was definitely out of my league. I haven't used Lancome Soleil Flash Bronzer Colour Instant Dry Spray Self Tan for Body since and probably won't. I sense it could be a decent facial tanner but I worry about breakouts so I guess I will pass this year old spray on to one of my sisters.

My Viewpoint

I am going with 3 stars. This is an average self-tanner in that the spray makes it somewhat difficult to apply unless you know how to do it (which I obviously didn't) but the color is nice with no orange and the scent is very bearable. There are less tricky ones out there for less though. I will recommend it but only to the spray savvy self-tanner.

Sigh - I've tried but I guess I don't put enough time into these things. Besides I'm a little leery about whatever this stuff is seeping into my bloodstream though I haven't gone over to the organic hair color yet. Nice job as always. jo
