It's summertime in South Florida. Hot, sticky, buggy and wet, there's no shortage of things to make you itch. It's just the the type of environment that gets you running for your can of Lanacane Spray Maximum Strength.
Lanacane Spray Maximum Strength 4oz
Essentially, Lanacane is a 20% spray of benzocaine with .2% of Benzethonium Chloride. It's an anesthetic/antiseptic spray, ideal for the temporary relief of painful sunburn and all things that make you itch.
Fortunately, I am neither the meal of choice for most South Florida insects nor a frequent victim of our hot sun. I am however plagued often by heat rash. It will generally start in the center of my chest. At first it's just a tingle. I scratch it through my shirt just a bit. Left untreated, my fingers will find their way inside my shirt. That's when the real damage gets done.
My nails offer only a moments relief, but scratch I must, more and more frequently until I scratch my chest raw. Really, not a very attractive image.
Now you have no way of knowing this, but this is just what I've been doing as I write this review. But, before I do any further damage I've gotten my can of Lanacane.
Shaking the can before I liberally spray the now inflamed area I can anticipate the relief. In a few minutes time, the itch, is gone, the fire is out and the chance of infection from all that pointless scratching minimized.
I generally find that relief lasts from between 2 - 4 hours with the first application. If I reapply before I resume scratching the relief will be even longer lasting.
In my opinion, Lanacane Spray Maximum Strength should be in every medicine cabinet, particularly here in South Florida. It can be found in virtually any drugstore for $5.00 or less.
