Lakewood Oil Filled Heater Review Summary

With a Lakewood Oil Filled Heater, you'll get to the point of "warm and cozy with ease" according to reviewers. They report the hardware store-recommended Lakewood heater works very well with keeping rooms warm, yet not that it does heat up slowly. Despite being filled with oil, it's sealed, with never a need to refill it. Two units can be used to keep a large home at 65 degrees, even in below freezing evening temperatures. There are two separate settings for 900 watt and 600 watt, meaning you can combine the two for 1500, yet this does cause the plug to get hot, causing at least three known fires. Because of this, reviewers feel children should be watched closely when nearby and that it shouldn't be placed near curtains or other flammables. Check out the reviews on other oil-filled heaters.

The Lakewood oil space heater is a very energy efficient heater.   My house used to be so  cold in the winter that I would have to wrap up in a blanket.   Not anymore.  Plus, I save on my enery bills.   I just love my space heater.   It keeps my whole house warm in the winter.   I can turn...

this heater is nice but the plug gets hot on it if you use both the 900 watt and 600 watt setting at the same time it caused us to have an outlet fire.  It works great to heat a small room on a high setting for a little while but don't leave it plugged in to long

our Hardware store carries & recommends this brand - it worth every penny.  the instructions are easy to follow....no need to refill the oil its sealed in the unit - the ease of use is great for anyone. especially the elderly & people with special needs or if you suddenly lose your heaters/radiators/forced heat to a storm or malfunction - it can replace the heat quickly - plus it has a thermostat built in to conserve energy - the rollers make it easy to move & store.  safety is first - like all heaters placing it near curtains, bedding or flammables can cause a fire - not matter how safe the... review »

I have had one of these type heaters for approximately 5 years.  My furnace went out last night, so I rolled it in my bedroom and plugged it up for the night.  Well the next morning I awoke to find that the heater had caught fire at the outlet.  Please be careful with these heaters and do not leave unattended or go to sleep with one running.  I was fortunate to wake up when I did, and actual flames (not sparks), were shooting from the outlet and burned about three and a half inches up the wall.  One half of the plug completely burned up and had to be removed from the outlet.  I will never... review »

I purchased this heater in hopes that it would lower my heating bill.  My home is heated entirely by electric and it's expensive.  With this heater, I can turn down the heat in the rest of the house and rely just on it for heat near me.  It's compact and doesn't take up a lot of space.  I can set it up higher at first and then lower later in the night after I've warmed up, and it's safe.  There's no danger of fumes or it catching on fire.  I'd recommend it to anyone.

The Lakewood oil filled heater is one of the best on the market. It has multiple heat settings, 600watts up to1600watts, plus a dial to select the temps. I own 2 of these and have used one at each end of the house, because I never turn the furnace on before Thanksgiving.

They keep my 4 bedroom home to a toasty 65 degrees. Even when outside temps dip down into the lower 20's at night and daytime highs are in the low 40's. As with all space heaters, read the instructions and never leave them unattended.

I bought this heater last year, so this is the second year I'm using it.  It heats up slow, but works very well - keeps the livingroom, dining room & hall nice and warm.  It has two switches - 600 watt and 900 watt, so you have three settings:  up to 1500 watts.  I have a 2 year old grandson that lives with me, so I don't feel totally safe with him playing around it, so I feel that I must watch him around it at all times.

Lakewood Oil Filled heater.

I bought two of these heaters to help offset the rising cost of propane.  They worked well for a little while then started to trip breakers in my home.  One of the heaters started to smoke.  Fortunately I was in the room at the time and was able to get it unplugged and outside.  I dread the thought of what would have happened had I not been in the room.

I got 3 of these at the end of the season at Home Depot, marked down to $15 each - what a steal! I love these oil filled heaters because they are great for keeping a room toasty warm without feeling unsafe because the heating element is exposed, like on normal space heaters. I recommend this type of heater to all my family and friends!
