While this is my second favorite single malt scotch whisky, I would recommend it as the first thing to try for someone who has never ventured into these types of higher end elixirs. Lagavulin provides a soothing blend of sweetness, brine, and smoke that makes it unique among its competitors. Like Laphroaig (my number one), it comes from Islay; however, Lagavulin is a bit more subtle and rounded. It's rather expensive, but if you like single malts, you pretty much have to try it. It's like drinking scotch-flavored peat smoke, only the scotch is made from angels. — Also, if you've ever been nostalgic for the peat fires they burn all over the UK, this should help nicely. — I think the first time I tried this, I fell on my knees and thanked God that I was alive. —…
