More of a laxative than a diet aid...

4

The Bottom Line: Laci Le Beau Super Dieter's Tea will not really help you lose weight but it will definitely keep you regular. One 6 ounce cup every night will guarantee a trip to the bathroom as soon as you get up. READ directions before use, and do not drink too much of this tea or you will have terrible cramps. This herbal tea has a mild flavor, which I find a bit bland actually, but since you only take in six ounces per day, it is not a deal breaker for me. It has a bit of a spicy flavor with the orange and licorice ingredients in the formula. You are supposed to drink one 6 ounce up in the evening (this is a caffeine free tea so it will not keep you up all night), and no more than that! This tea contains Senna, which is a natural laxative, so if you take too much of it, you will more than likely get painful cramps. The box clearly states that you should not drink any more than one cup per day, or you will end up with diarrhea because of the Senna herb. I made two mistakes the first time I used this tea: I brewed it too long (more than the recommended 2 minutes), and I drank two cups instead of one, thinking more was better. I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible cramps and had to spend a few hours in the bathroom. This tea is definitely a GREAT laxative, but you really need to be careful and not abuse it or you will have very uncomfortable digestive issues. If used as prescribed, this tea makes is a great laxative, but it will not help you lose weight, only keep you regular.

Laxative Tea

1

I'm a big tea drinker so when a friend gave me a box of her favorite Super Dieter's Tea that she said tasted awesome I gave it a try. I'm not sure why she loves this tea so much. I was not impressed at all. It appears to be just a laxative in tea form. A few hours after drinking the surprisingly nice tasting tea you'll be making a visit to the bathroom. If you're lucky it will only be one visit. If you're not lucky you'll be in there all night and part of the next day. Yeah, sure it helps you lose weight, because it makes you sick and clears out everything in your system. EVERYTHING. I tried just a single dose of this and gave her back the rest of the box. It is just not for 99% of the population. I guess if you are constipated it might be okay but it's certainly not for anyone wanting to lose weight safely. giving a person diarrhea is not a sustainable or ethical weight loss option. I would strongly advise avoiding this.

Should be called "cleansing tea"

4

This tea is called "dieter's tea" and I guess that is ok, being that when you are on a diet it is also nice to have a good colon cleanse to go along with it. However, I think this tea's name could be a bit misleading to some people. This tea does not in any way curb your appetite or speed up your metabolism. It is caffeine free, so it doesn't even provide any extra boost of energy. That being said, it doesn't sound like a "dieter's tea" at all. It does, however clean out your pipes! The first time I used this tea, I steeped it for an extra few minutes like I do most teas (because I prefer a strong flavor). Bad idea. I barely finished my full cup before having to go to the bathroom. I didn't attribute it to the tea and drank another 2 cups of the tea the next day. Same effect. This tea should be called "colon cleansing tea" because it makes you go to the bathroom. I give it a score of 7 because I actually like anything that helps me in that area, especially when I am trying to eat healthy and cleanse my body of toxins, but I can't give it a 10 because the name can be misleading to many people and they may be upset when they realize it isn't going to help them curb their appetite in any way.

Laci Le Beau Tea Bags

I found these super dieter's tea bags at my local Whole Food's which is where I usually am when trying to find something healthy to add to my diet plan. I have always been one to love drinking teas and of course I love the health benefits from all the antioxidants they contain so seeing this whole super dieter setup made me really curious as to how well it would work for me. Since it is getting into those really hot summer days drinking hot tea isn't exactly ideal but I love making this tea into ice tea and using it to help curb my hunger as an appetite suppressant throughout the day and in between meals. I love the unique blend of ingredients, they all seem to go hand in hand perfectly to deliver this amazing and sensational taste that is so good it seems hard to believe that it can be so good for me at the same time. It has made it easier for me to stop many of my unhealthy snacking habits because after I have an eight ounce glass I am surprisingly satisfied.

Yikes! You must read.

First, let me be the first to attest to the fact that this tea will work on you. In fact, it will work on you in very mysterious ways on which I do not wish to expand. Keep in mind that the key ingredient in this tea is Senna, which will MESS YOU UP if you do not follow the tea's directions of letting it seep for JUST TWO minutes. You read it here first: T-W-O.... let it seep it longer at your own risk (it comes in individual bags). What to expect? The tea flavors are pretty awesome. My favorite used to be mint. I say "used to be" because I was a "user" back in college; a time when stress ate my life and my body would totally go out of whack three months in a row. The tea worked as my lifeline for bodily balance: it was a flush system, as well as a cleansing system. And it works...but oh, man, how it works...if you by any chance forget that you had it seeping, go ahead and add water, remove the bag, take it....and stay home overnight. Senna is nothing to mess with. It will cramp you until you are on your knees, and the rest is history. Hence: follow the directions- TWO minutes after dinner (NOT BEFORE). Again NOT BEFORE. The funny thing is that, since it does do its job, you may develop a love/hate relationship with the Lacy tea. You may want to cleanse every week, or once a month (DO NOT USE DAILY) and you will realize the consequences of misuse. Hence, you will respect it and learn to use it...and you shall live happily ever after.

Good tasting tea

2

This is a very tasty tea, but it did nothing to stop any cravings. It does clean you out, so stay near a bathroom 6-8 hours or so after drinking it. You cannot drink it every day. It tastes good hot or iced. Don't expect miracle weight loss with this product.

Poop yourself to a better body diet

I first tried this years ago. My friend did too. We were both up all night with cramps and the runs. But you will lose weight and lost water, fast. But not with this, alone. You have to seriously cut calories and fat but this stuff (if you're backed up) will do the same thing as a colonic. Do NOT use this unless you have a free weekend to sit at home and poo. I'm serious. You cannot drink this and expect to leave the house. You might have an accident in your pants and I kid you not. I actually did. Drink a little more than is ordered, or else you'll just get cramps and won't poo.

Don't mess with this tea unless you know what you are doing.

This product is dangerous.  Too little information on the product materials to make an educated decision.  Even natural products can kill.  The manufacturer should emphasize the dangers that accompany this product or take it off the market.  I have used it and will never use it again.  There are so many other alternatives that it is not worth risking my health.

***Quick View:*** I love tea and drink it all the time. When I saw this tea, I figured why not try it? I am not trying to lose weight but I figured since I drink tea anyway, this would would be a good way to keep my appetite in check. Well, all this did was to give me diarrhea. Oh, I lost weight, but it wasn't exactly the way I intended his tea to work! ***What the Manufacturer Says About this Tea ****America's #1 Selling Dieter's Tea* Naturally Caffeine Free All Natural. No Artificial Ingredients Laci Le Beau Your Cup of Tea Dear Friend, Dieting can be difficult. But it can also be satisfying. So you can look your best, feel your best, and be your best. Always. Warmest Wishes, Laci* ***About Laci Le Beau Super Dieter's Tea Bags, Cranberry Twist*** This box of tea contained 24 bags. I brewed 12 ounces of water and let a bag sit in the hot water for well over two minutes as instructed. The scent was fragrant and I was looking forward to this new tea. The instructions say that one should drink six ounces after dinner and the other six the next day after dinner meaning you get two servings per bag. But only six ounces? I am used to huge mugs of tea. Still, I forged ahead. The taste was decent. I could pick up hints of cranberry and something earthy that wasn't BAD but not as good as I was expecting. I added a touch of sugar to take the edge off and it was a decent little cup of tea. About an hour after drinking the tea, I got stomach cramps. They started out slight and built up to somewhat painful. Nothing came of it so I forgot about it. The next day, I drank the remaining six ounces of tea. The cramps came back almost an hour to the minute after I finished the tea and this time, I got the runs. BAD! I didn't really connect the tea with the incident because I have IBS and sometimes my stomach flares up. But after four days of drinking the tea, getting the cramps an hour later, and having diarrhea, it was clear the tea was the culprit. In four days I lost five pounds. But it was just water and the fact that I had no appetite from feeling so sick. The warning on the insert says,*"This product contains Tinnevelly Senna (leaf). Read and follow directions carefully. Do not use if you have or develop diarrhea, loose stools, or abdominal pain because Senna may worsen these conditions and be harmful to your health. Consult your physician if you have frequent diarrhea or if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or have a medical condition."* I looked up Tinnevelly and, to my surprise, not only does it cause stomach cramps and discomfort but can cause potassium deficiency. I already have a potassium deficiency and am being treated for it. Along with potassium, this ingredient can cause electrolyte disturbances which can cause irregular heart rhythms and illness (Deaths have been caused due to electrolyte imbalances.). Potassium is just one of the electrolytes that this tea can affect. I immediately tossed the tea away. Losing weight or maintaining weight is great but only if done in a healthy way. There is NO WAY I am going to risk electrolyte deficiency. The stomach cramps and diarrhea alone are reason to avoid this tea. Who wants to suffer like that and only lose fluids which will be back in their body the next day? I will never touch this type of tea again. I will stick to my green and normal herbal teas and leave this stuff to the braver people out there. ***My Viewpoint*** This tea claims to help weight loss and it does. By giving you diarrhea and causing you to flush your system of important vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes you need. Honestly, is it worth it? I say absolutely not. This stuff is uncomfortable at best and dangerous at worst. Some teas do help with appetite control but apparently this one's claim to fame is to purge your system of all food you just ate for dinner. Bad idea. Especially if you happen to have guests over or drink the tea away from home. ***1 star***. Your results may vary but please be careful and, if you have a lot of diarrhea, stop drinking the tea before you end up in the hospital.
