La Mer creme de la mer —

My mom had a 1- ounce jar of La Mer Crème de la Mer which she wasn't using so I liberated it. I was a bit hesitant to use this moisturizer because I use only Obagi products. But I don't use Obagi on my neck so I decided this would be my neck cream. I also get some very dry spots above my nose. La Mer Crème de la Mer is just wonderful for this dry skin.

The truth is that what is said on the website is correct. Lines on my neck seem to be less noticeable. I am using another product around my eyes so I haven't tried La Mer Crème de la Mer there but I would for sure.

Before I go any farther 1-ounce costs $125. Two ounces costs $230 and if your mom is very special Mother's Day is coming up so why not spend almost $1400 but she'll get 16.5 ounces which will last forever. The 1-ounce jar has lasted me for a couple of months.

La Mer Crème de la Mer is said to have Miracle Broth (trademarked) which "is suspended within its extraordinary formula."  (http://www.cremedelamer.com/miracle/miracle.tmpl)

The crème is white and very thick. We are told that in order to activate the broth and release its key ingredients warm a small amount between your fingertips. This is what I do and then I pat it on my dry areas and neck. "The key to proper application is to apply Crème Del La Mer onto a "THOROUGHLY" dried skin surface. The molecules in this eye & face cream are encapsulated in a layer of specialized oil that will make it slide off wet skin. Warm a dollop in your palm to disintegrate the liquid crystals containing the healing waters. "Pat or dab" it on with the padded portion of your fingertips to fully unleash its miraculous powers." http://www.amazon.com/Mer-Creme/dp/B0002JVRP6

The Miracle Broth is marine based, (seaweed) which is distilled through long process.  It also has minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and lecithin as well as vitamins C, D, E and B12 and lots of oils- citrus, eucalyptus, wheat germ, alfalfa, and sunflower. I like the smell.  You won't get anything strong like lavender, flowers, or fruit. To me it has a pleasant smell that I just cannot describe other than non-intrusive.

It seems that La Mer Crème de la Mer may contain Mineral Oil which is liquid petroleum and is said to interfere with absorption. That seems counter productive to the whole process. I would suggest that you start with the smallest jar which will cost you $30 for .24 ounces. I can't give this wonderful cream 5 stars because of the price.

I think this is a good cream but completely overpriced. I have tried others that were as good for so much less. This doesn't have many or any anti aging ingredients in it from what I can see but it does deeply moisturize. If I got it free, I'd definitely use it though!
