great overall product, horrible scent

Comments about LUSH Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly:

I love LUSH bath jelly, it's a hybrid of bar soap and shower gel. There's a certain fun-ness to this product that just enhances a bath. When you use this in the summertime, you can put the jelly in the freezer and it never completely freezes and you can bathe with a nice cold jelly bar.

In regards to actual effectiveness, this gets you clean and the scent lingers on you all day. It's not super effective at eliminating odors, so if you've gotten really smell after a workout or an intensive home clean, you might want to use a different product.

This particular scent though? Sweetie Pie is just way too sweet. I thought it would be a fun children's soap since kiddos generally love fruity candy like smells, but this really is too much. It no longer smells like candy, and instead smells like very strong Pepto-Bismal. I'd recommend getting any other scent of the Shower Jelly, because it really is a great product; just stay away from Sweetie Pie.

A sweet shower treat.

Comments about LUSH Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly:

On one of my last trips to the local LUSH store, I was fascinated by these gigantic blocks of jelly sitting on the counter. In fact, the salesperson there let me sample the bright blue Woosh jelly, and I fell in love with it. Ready to take home a chunk of blue, I had a last minute switch and grabbed Sweetie Pie because, well, it was purple, and it had glitter. Two of my favorite things... seriously.

Some day, I will definitely go back for Woosh... but not for a long while. Because pure and simple, this stuff lasts... and lasts...and lasts. You literally only need a very small pinch of this jelly to whip up a rich lather. The Sweetie Pie jelly in particular is a black cherry scented soap made with a seaweed base, and despite being shiny with glitter, once you lather it up, it does not wind up on your body at all. It feels great, has a nice moisturizing effect, and the scent lingers on my skin all day.

One thing to note is that this jelly can be a bit tricky to get the hang of, and you'll probably experience it wiggling right out of your hands the first time you're trying to work up a lather. Simply putting a small coin-sized dollop in a loofah or even a bath sponge is a perfect way to get your bath lather without dropping half of your goods to the bottom of the tub.

All and all, this product is a success. And like many LUSH products, it's a reminder that anyone can play in the bath... no matter what your age.

Comments about LUSH Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly:

I bought this shower jelly on a whim because my best friend bought some and I wanted to try it out myself. I didn't know much about Sweetie Pie outside of that it was supposed to have a similar scent to black cherry and since I love Dr Brown's Black Cherry Soda, I thought I would probably love this too.  The shower jelly is a soap but in jelly form which can be awkward for first time users.  When I tried it out, I just broke off a bit from the side and rubbed it on as if it were like a liquid shower gel, but i noticed it would sometimes break away from the piece your holding, and you have a chunk of jelly on you.  It was just as effective as regular soap but was in some sense on the messy side.  When i talked it over with my friend, she mentioned to me that she used one of those scrubby gloves and that gave it more of a loofah effect and it worked perfectly that way - so if you plan on trying this, get a loofah or scrub glove.  If you don't, you can still use it but youll probably have to rinse out your shower to get the stray pieces of jelly.

Another awesome thing about this product is it doubles as a bubble bath. You take a small piece of jelly, maybe the size of a quarter, and you can wrap it with a wash cloth or put it inside a tea infuser and run it under your water, and it bubbles up instantly!  It will last forever if you use it this way because you only need a small amount to get a large amount of bubbles and you still get the amazing fragrance with it.  I noticed in the pro section, someone mentioned glitter but I didn't have glitter with mine.
