Even though my scalp is not really sensitive nor do I have dandruff I had to try this new solid shampoo bar from LUSH called Squeaky Green. Why? Becasue it's LUSH, of course. And because it's green which is my favorite color, and because it's new, smells really good, and is sodium lauryl sulfate free. So even though I needed another shampoo like a hole in the head, I had to try it out.
LUSH.com describes Squeaky Green as another LUSH innovation, Squeaky Green is an economical, eco-friendly shampoo bar that uses sodium coco sulfate soap noodles derived from pure coconut oil. It is 100% sodium lauryl sulfate-free (SLS) and ideal for sensitive scalps. Peppermint stimulates growth, while tea tree and rosemary help reduce dandruff and flakes. On top of being not half bad for the environment, it's fabulously fragranced with our refreshing Go Green scent.
Because of the lack of SLS I didn't expect that this shampoo would work very well but I was pleasantly surprised. Just a few swipes of the bar over my wet hair resulted in a ton of fragrant lather that was rich and soft. And it smelled really good as well. It has a nice combination of mint, herbs, and a fresh green scent that is appropriate for both men and women.
As I don't have sensitive scalp or dandruff issues I cannot say whether Squeaky Green helps clear up those conditions, but it did cleanse my hair well and rinsed away easily. A separate conditioner is necessary though as it left my long hair squeaky clean and a bit tangly. I once skipped the conditioner after using Squeaky Green and my hair was kind of gnarly and staticky all day.
4 stars for Squeaky Green as it smells great, cleanses gently, and is great for travel as it is small and not liquid. I'd definitely buy it again.
