When it comes to facial skin care products, I usually stick to the philosophy line because most of the stuff works very well and lasts awhile. I have to admit, though, that I was intrigued when I noticed that LUSH made several cleansers and moisturizers specifically for your face. It was mid-winter, my skin was dry, and I was cringing at the thought of paying $35.00 for another pot of philosophy's Hope In A Jar. When I read the description for LUSH Skin Drink and saw that it cost $15 less than my usual moisturizer, I was sold.
Skin Drink is described by LUSH as a "re-hydrating moisturizer for dry skin". It contains aloe, sesame seed oil, rose water, avocado, sweet almond oil, evening primrose oil, orange flower oil, and cocoa seed butter... along with some safe synthetic ingredients. This cream is tan in color and smells like a combination of aloe and tahini (sesame seed paste). It is sold in 1.5 ounce pots for $16.95.
You only need a very small amount of LUSH Skin Drink to cover your entire face, even if you have dry skin like I do. This moisturizer absorbs very quickly into skin and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated. I've found that the brown tint gives my pale winter skin a bit of a glow though the color isn't noticeable now on my super-tan face.
This product is a bit rich and would probably be too much for those with oily or even combination skin. My skin tends to be dry for most of the year and then combination in the summer... so I put it away between May and September. That being said, it's still one of the very best facial moisturizers that I've ever used. It ranks right up there with Hope In A Jar and costs significantly less! I am on my 3rd jar of LUSH Skin Drink now and plan to keep a jar of this product in my bathroom closet at all times.
