Quick View

LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids Soap is woefully average and certainly not worth the steep price tag LUSH charges for it. I got mine as a sample with an order and used it today. Bland, I tell ya, bland!

Full Story

I read many positive reviews about this soap but honey isn't my favorite scent so I passed on buying it. I was happy to get a sample with my last order to see if maybe it had a caramel or candy scent. In fact, my little slab reminded me of a Bit O'Honey candy which I used to love. Alas, the scent was SO subtle that I was left disappointed.

My Use

I prepared for a candy or honey scent but I barely smelled anything at all! There was a slight hint of sweet honey that did smell like candy but it was so subtle that I barely detected it. Other people I know have said the scent of this soap is strong. Maybe I got a dud sample?

In the shower, it lathered a little which is par for the LUSH course. They are not known for their high lather soaps because they use mostly natural ingredients and I guess the stuff that makes soap lather is a chemical.

The sample disintegrated away and, when I stepped out of the shower, my skin had no scent that I could detect. It was not dryer than usual but also not hydrated. I slathered on body butter and went on my way.

Because soaps are cut off large handmade blocks, some seem to smell strongly and others hardly at all. Mine fell into the "hardly at all" category.

I think, if this has a stronger scent, I actually might have liked it. As I said, I am not a straight honey scent lover but honey or caramel candy, that's whole other story. If the soap was above average as far as lathering, cleansing, hydrating, or something, I might have bought a whole bar to see if it had a stronger scent.

But even of it did, it would still be a very avenge LUSH soap for me with a nice scent.

Not good enough for $7.75 for a 3.5 ounce chunk.

My Viewpoint

One word. Average.

It's not a bad soap, it just doesn't do much of anything for me. I would like it better of it were average and smelled great or didn't smell great but did great things for my skin. But it just does what soap does. Cleanses my body. I'll pay a buck for a huge hunk of Dove if I want just cleansing. I want an experience when I shower or bathe.

My experience with LUSH Honey I Washed the Kids Soap was (come on, you KNOW what I am going to say!) average.

3 stars. I recommend it though because you may love the subtle scent or may luck out and get a block that smells great. You never know what you'll get when you play LUSH roulette.
