LUSH's Each Peach Massage Bar smells more like lemon than peach but is a nice, fragrant bar of natural oils and butters to make your skin smooth and soft.
Full View
I recently tried LUSH Each Peach Massage Bar recently and I liked it quite a bit. I was looking forward to a peachy smelling bar that melted on my skin and left it soft and fragrant. Well, this bar melts easily and leaves my skin soft but I smell not even a hint of peach and only lemon - which isn't even IN the ingredients!
The Bar
The bar is 2.2 ounces and oval. It is cream colored, lighter than butter, with a peach tree branch design on one side. One whiff overwhelmed me with straight up, fresh squeezed lemon juice and nothing else. I loved it!
My Use
The scent isn't fake or like furniture polish. It smells just like I sliced open a lemon and squeezed it all over me. It looks like a bar of soap but is to be used on dry skin. I used the flat side and swiped it across my arms and, immediately, my arms were greasy. I was a little shocked at how oily this bar was but, after all, it is a massage bar and massages generally use oil. I had no problem spreading the oils on my skin and they absorbed quickly. The scent remained very strong, almost too strong for my liking and I love strong lemon scents.
As for massage use, I could see how this would work well. However, my husband hates greasy stuff and hasn't given me a massage in a million years. (We've been married for over 20 years; it's a miracle we still speak.)
The oils absorb fast on my dry skin. And the scent! It lasts forever. I felt like a huge walking lemon for hours. I even woke up smelling lemony after using the bar the afternoon before.
This bar is pricey at $7.95 for a mere 2.2 ounces and it seems to want to melt into a puddle if it gets too warm. I keep it in a tin away from heat because there is nothing to prevent it from melting. The only ingredient that isn't natural in this bar is the fragrance.
Not a trace of lemon in the bar yet I couldn't tell which was the real lemon and which was the Each Peach Massage Bar if I did a blind sniff test. Go figure.
My Viewpoint
This is a somewhat strange little bar of oils and butters. It is a good moisturizer, although not as rich and thick as body butter. It melts on contact and leaves a greasy veil on my skin but a quick rub down and the oils absorb into my skin and leave it soft and very fragrant. It is a quick fix for dry skin and would make for a fragrant, heady massage. Maybe I will ask the old hubby to give me a massage for research purchases. That, in itself, would be worth the cost of this bar! 4 stars!
