LUSH Dreamtime Bath Melt —

LUSH Dreamtime Bath Melt is a solid bath oil melt that is meant to be used in a warm or hot bath. It does not create bubbles or fizz, but very effectively softens and fragrances the bath. If you've never tried a bath melt from LUSH, this is a good one to start with. The only other one I really like so far is You've Been Mangoed which I have already reviewed.

As I said in my soundbite, Dreamtime smells just like chamomile tea. It also has a heady lavender note which helps to freshen the scent. I found the fragrance to be very calming and extremely sleep-inducing. The scent lingers and lasts for a couple hours after bathing -if you can stay awake long enough to notice.

There are no bubbles, fizz or show from the melt, but what you do get is an inviting foamy, creamy layer on the top of the bath water as it melts -this is from the moisturizing oils. The water does not turn a pretty color but instead resembles dishwater which is no biggie for me since the "show" is in the fragrance. There are a few bits of chamomile and lavender that disperse from the bar but they easily go down the drain at the end. Cleanup is easy too. I just blast the tub with a spray of super hot water and then spray my normal leave-on shower cleaner.

I did take away a point due to the price of the bath melts. I am assuming LUSH intends one bar per bath, but at around $7 a bar, I chop mine into thirds which is the smallest I would go without feeling like I am skimping.

I normally add in LUSH's description so here it goes:

This is a bedtime bath, do you hear? Take note. Useth not in the mornings or thou shalt nod off before coffee time. Dreamtime is a small, creamy bar made from cocoa butter and almond oil designed to melt in the bath water to soften your skin and calm your troubled head so you can go straight to bed, without having to apply body lotion, and sleep soundly. It does this by plying your nostrils with chamomile, the ultimate calming oil, with relaxing sandalwood and jasmine, balancing lavender and warming ginger. The only reasonable response to this is to fall asleep.

I just saw a Chamomile tea on a blog for Soapy Nature today. Has anyone here tried their soaps? They seem to be a bit less expensive. Looking to get some for my sister's birthday. She's a "soap nut".
