This is a strange looking shampoo, but trust me the LUSH Big Shampoo really works to making my hair look "big". I love LUSH products in general, because they limit the chemicals I put on my body. Also this shampoo reduces the amount of products I use to get my hair looking voluminous. This shampoo is loaded with chunks of sea salt which makes it a weird shampoo than what I am usually accustomed too. LUSH describes the scent as a lemon lime margarita I can definitely agree to that statement. The product comes in a black plastic container with a lid I twist off to get the product out. I use a disposable plastic spoon to take one scoop out that is pretty much all I use for my long hair. Surprisingly this shampoo lathers up so good it feels very thick, and I can still feel the salt granules. The salt doesn't scratch my head if I rub it into my head to hard, but after a few minutes it starts to dissolve into my hair. The citrus, and salt together began to transform my hair into something I never had. It looks so voluminous, and not weighed down by heavy residual products. My hairs gets a lot of compliments I get effortless volume every time I use this shampoo. It has not stripped my hair of moisture either it feels very soft as well, and cleansed thoroughly. I highly recommend the LUSH Big Shampoo.

The LUSH Big shampoo is one I always go back to. I like to use this product when I know I'm not going to wash my hair for several days. For some reason, when I use this product I find that I can go for several days between washes. The extra volume that this product gives my hair keeps the oil from setting into my hair. My hair is naturally voluminous to begin with, but I find that this product helps my hair keep that volume for many days. Similarly, the Big shampoo also keeps a style in my hair better than most shampoos do. I have naturally wavy hair, so when I straighten my hair I find that it doesn't stay straight for very long. When I use Big, I find that my hair maintains the stick-straight look for much longer than it normally would. I also find this product to be great for removing all the product buildup on my hair. I don't think it's marketed as a clarifying shampoo, but it works for me as one.

I've been a Lush convert and evangelist for years, but this is one of the few mistakes I've made there. I don't expect to get on perfectly with every product a company makes, but this one just wasn't for me. It's meant to give extra volume, but all it did was weigh my hair down, the opposite of what I expected. It has a lovely scent from the sea salt and using it makes me feel as if I've just got back from the beach, even in the middle of winter, but my hair didn't get on with this at all. I noticed some hair snapping after using this for a few weeks, something I don't normally have a problem with. Yes, the ingredients might be mostly natural, but natural doesn't necessarily mean good for you or your hair. It does lather up very well though, and a little goes a long way so like other lush shampoos I could see it lasting a long time, but I ended up giving the rest of my pot away as it just wasn't for me.

This is overall a great shampoo, it does not lather and leaves the hair feeling great. Well worth the price. If you are looking for a natural way to keep your hair clean this is the way to go. It is a little pricey but for something that is organic, i think it is reasonable. I would definitely recommend this to others. Effectiveness It didn't make my hair feel dry or oily, it made it soft and looked fuller and more healthy. It may throw you off at first because it does not lather. The first time i used it, i felt like i wasn't using enough on my hair but it worked like a charm. Scent I liked the scent personally. If you like the smell of natural products then this will be great for you, however, if you happen to like watermelon flavors or things like that then this isn't the scent for you. It still has a fresh scent even though it is all natural. I cant recall whether it has a smell of rosemary or any other herb smell, all i know is that i did like it.

This shampoo is perfect for those summer months when hair can get weighted down easily. Lush Big shampoo gives hair an extra boost that keeps is bouncy and healthy looking. Smells great too! Perfect when paired with Lush's Vegenese conditioner.

I have fine, extremely thin hair (read: if I don't place it *just so* there you will see scalp). This shampoo was able to give MY hair volume! It's a miracle worker, really. The only downside is how incredibly drying it it. It's almost impossible to run your hands through your hair after shampooing because it's TOO squeaky clean. Conditioning afterward is a MUST. I stopped using this shampoo because I went to red, and anyone who's been a redhead knows that it can be really hard to keep it bright. This shampoo was a bit too cleansing for my dye job, and I also wouldn't recommend it for others with color-treated hair (if you don't want it to fade some). Effectiveness The salt crystals are wonderful as they scrub against the scalp, almost like a massage. Your hair feels so fresh and clean! I think it would be particularly effective if you have any sort of buildup or dandruff. Scent Like many Lush products, it smells amazing. Just...incredible. It's beachy and wonderful!

Even though it is a little pricey, you honestly only need the tiniest amount to fully lather your hair. I have quite long hair and this container literally lasts me months. As a shampoo, it does the job of cleaning my hair without any problem. Not to mention, my hair feels super silky and soft after using it. I am also prone to dandruff, but this seems to keep my scalp healthy and dandruff-free. As far as volumizing the hair, I don't really think it does anything enough for me to notice. My hair isn't flat per se, but it's no Beyoncé voluminous either. Overall, I'd recommend it mainly for it's value and daily use.

As I mentioned in a previous review, I'm addicted to LUSH and am on a personal mission to try every LUSH product that even somewhat appeals to me. Big Shampoo is one of those products that has appealed to me but I was afraid to use it. Fortunately the sales associates at my local LUSH know me well and were sure I'd love it so they gave me a huge sample of Big Shampoo to try. The day after trying my sample I drove straight back to the shop to buy a full size container. I love it! What was I so afraid of? Well, the salt. This shampoo is loaded with chunks of coarse sea salt. It just doesn't seem like the kind of thing I'd want in my hair. I was sure it would get stuck, but after using Big Shampoo many times, I can assure you that it does not (not in my straight hair anyway, your mileage may vary if you've got thick or curly hair). LUSH describes Big as a lemon lime margarita shampoo that adds body and shine to fine hair. Well that describes my hair pretty well. It's quite shiny and healthy, but I really struggle to whip up any sort of volume. Big also contains citrus juices for shine and chunks of sea salt and sea water for "hair-buffing" impact and body building. Big is super concentrated. The sales associate who made my sample explained that just a tiny scoop is needed and that it lathers like crazy. So I use my little Baskin Robbins sample spoon to scoop out a small amount (less than half a teaspoon). It's quite thick and salty so I rub it over my wet hands a bit to exfoliate and whip up some lather and then apply it to my crown area and work it all over my scalp. The salt is not too coarse on my head as by this point it's begun to dissolve a bit and just sort of massages my scalp. Effectiveness While I can't say that Big makes my hair totally puffy and volumized, it does leave it feeling soft, looking healthy and shiny, and I am able to work the round brush thru it more easily to build volume when I dry it. Scent Big smells very nice. The scent is not strong but is fruity and pleasant.

Was skeptical of this shampoo at first, due to the sea salt content. However, if you make sure your hair is very wet first, then apply the shampoo you will get a fantastic lather that works  up great. Every time I use Big shampoo by Lush, my hair looks so nice afterwards and people always comment on the nice smell the shampoo leaves behind.

I am a huge Lush fan, always love trying new products, but Big is one I always come back to! It is definitely different from your average shampoo in scent and appearance, but the difference to your hair is addictive. It definitely is "weird" looking the first time you try it. I bought some recently and my husband asked, "Are you sure that's shampoo?" The salt gives it a grainy texture. The scent is hard to describe, but one I've come to love - a good thing, as it lingers in your hair all day. I've always had trouble finding products for my hair - fine, oily roots but dry ends. Big seems to take care of all of them - leaving my hair clean but not dried out, giving it some body but not fluffy flyaways. I have actually had people come up and compliment my hair when all I've done is my usual wash with Big at night, then smooth it down the next morning (with a tiny bith of hair product sometimes but usually just water). That is another big (no pun intended) plus for me. I love Lush in general for reducing the amount of chemicals that I put on my body. Big shampoo also lets me reduce the number of products I use in general. Both economical and better for my body and the environment. Downside, it is expensive. However, you only need a tiny, tiny amount. Even when I had really long hair, a bare fingerful (like, dime-sized drop) was all I needed. Although it doesn't precisely lather, you can easily feel it spreading as you massage it into damp hair. So cost-wise, it does work out less expensive than you would think, as it lasts forever. My husband and I shared a small tub (like, a half-cup) that lasted us about four months. Bottom line, I love Big shampoo. It does wonders for my hard-to-manage hair.
