Worst Tanning Lotion Ever!

1

I bought this hoping to go on vacation and not blind the whole beach with my pasty white legs, I was NOT impressed at all! Instead of white, my legs were blotchy orange! I followed the instructions on the back exactly and used a washcloth to exfoliate before applying and everything. At first I thought it was going okay and then the next morning I woke up orange! The smell was awful too, I didn't want to walk around smelling like a tanning salon. Even after showering and applying other lotion it still stunk! I waited another few days before applying again just to give it another shot, and it was worse than before! Instead of being able to wear shorts, I had to put pants on because my legs looked so awful! I thought when I bought this tanning lotion that it was supposed to be a great product since L'oreal typically has good, dependable products, but not when it comes to this tanning lotion!

Nice for pale legs when wearing shorts

3

I like it for my legs when they are very pale at the beginning of spring and I'm about to wear shorts. I'm not a fan of the scent. I'm not confident of putting it on my entire body because if I can't reach a spot, then it will be uneven and obvious. Effectiveness This product does tan the skin. It does not leave an orange or fake looking tint as long as it's not used too often, and only used on certain parts of my body. Unfortunately I'm only able to use it on my legs. If I were to apply it to my feet, it leaves a streak where I have to stop. If I were to apply it to my arms, I can't apply it to my hands for that same reason, and it is obvious I've used a self-tanner. Also I can't continue onto my back (without help), and then it doesn't give me an all over tan. So, I just use it on my legs before wearing shorts, so that they aren't too pale. Once I've gotten a real tan outdoors, I stop using it until it's needed again. I would not apply it to my face because I would be afraid that if I did not apply it perfectly evenly, it would leave a dark orange spot, or a pale spot where I had missed. Ease of Application It's very easy to apply. The bottle is easy to open and use. The lotion is smooth and I'm just careful to avoid getting too much around my ankle bones and my knees, or it will leave spots of dark color. Scent It has a fairly strong self-tanner smell. It's not a fresh nice smell like I would hope for. Longevity When I apply it to my legs, it lasts for a couple of days.

Not that great.

I really didn't care much for L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion, SPF 15. I'm a red head and it's impossible for me to actually tan. In the summer I fake bake so I don't blind people with my white legs. I've tried about every self-tanner I can think of. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion, SPF 15 is one of the worst I've tried. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion smells awful. It's the worst smelling of any self tanner I have used. The smell remains on your skin after use so you're stuck with a gross smell on your body. The tan that develops was orange on me. Orange skin to match my orange hair I guess? It was not a good look for me! It was kind of streaky in a few spots even though I know I rubbed it in correctly. The color faded quickly, luckily. I didn't want to have to run around looking like an oompa loompa. The product does have SPF in it which is nice but the product itself is just awful. Do not buy this product! You will look like an oompa loompa and smell horrible. Scent GROSS!

Does the job, but could be better

I originally bought this because I wanted to get rid of my farmer's tan. So the plan was to just place it around on my upper arm, shoulders, thighs and feet (I tend to wear sneakers and longer pants). The result: after applying it everyday for maybe half a week, I started to see results. The skin got darker in the areas where it was applied. The color was a nice tan color, not some nasty orange-fake-tan color. The only problem was, since I was selective about where to put it, you could sometimes see the line where I stopped applying the product. Overall, I think the product works, but for best results, you have to apply it everywhere in such a way that you cannot see the boundary between where there is and isn't product. Effectiveness After applying the product for a few days, you can definitely see results, so this product is not a sham. I just wish it blended better when you put on the product. Ease of Application I had no problem putting on the product. It's an easy flip-open top and you just squeeze it out on your hand. Though remember to wash your hands immediately after - unless you want to tan your palms too. The texture is just like lotion. Scent I didn't care much for the scent. It isn't horrible, but it isn't some nice lotion scent that you'd want to be sporting. Longevity I only tanned myself a little bit so it wasn't that clear when my skin started to lighten back to its original color.

orange is not the new brown

This product had more negative effects than positive effects. I was not pleased with the results that I saw while using this product. It was oily and went on thin but left my skin greasy feeling. I did not like that. The more you put on the brighter orange it got. The color only lasted about two days which at that point I was thankful for. After two days the color started fading and it became patching and some parts were darker than others. The smell is terrible. They day it has a fruity smell but it does not. It smells like chemicals. Almost like a cleaner. I was not happy. It was a complete waste of money. I do not recommend this product to anyone. Effectiveness the color went on orange not brown. That was not what I was expecting. Ease of Application Easy to apply. shows up while applying so you know where you have applied it. Scent Smells almost like a cleaner. Very chemical smell. Longevity Overall I would not recommend this product.

Worked Fine! Combined it with Lotion to Help the Smell.

I liked this product because you can use it daily to help gradually build a real nice looking fake tan. The main problem, as is the problem with all self-tanners, for me, is the smell. But fortunately I was able to deal with it by combining the self tanner lotion with another lotion (I think I was using Jergens at the time) and that seemed to dilute the stench well enough for me to tolerate it. I'm not sure how much of the self tanning potency I affected by combining it with a regular lotion, but I still enjoyed streak free color (maybe more so with the added lotion) that I was able to build at a gradual pace, and I think it still looked pretty darn good. Effectiveness I can't really say anything bad about the efficacy of this product, I got a nice colored self tan that seemed to last as long as it was supposed to . Ease of Application Maybe a bit easier than other self tanners because it comes like a lotion, it's not a drippy spray or oil, it really holds together. I think I improved the ease with which I applied it by combining it with equal parts of lotion when I put it on. Scent All self-tanners stink, let's just get that out right now. Compared to others, not better and not worse. It stunk like it should, I guess, as they all do. I helped this out considerably by combining it with regular lotion as I applied itt. Longevity It lasted for several days, which could be extended no doubt for weeks if you continue to apply it.

Best sunless tanning lotion I have tried by far!

4

I have tried numerous self tanning lotions, usually ending with orange streaks or an uneven tan. I absolutely love L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Loton! It blends evenly and darkens gradually thoughout the day to a realistic golden bronze tan. I highly recommend it!

good product in general

4

This product is a good product in general.  What I like about it is that it goes on nicely and gives an instant glow while the color develops.  It has a shimmery, glittery effect that I like but is slightly too heavy.  I also like that if you put it on twice a week like the directions suggest, your color stays fairly consistent all the time.  What I don't like about it is that it occasionally streaks and I get areas where you can tell that it is there--areas that are darker than others or others that are conspicuously whiter than other areas.  It especially globs up around my toes and feet and between my fingers.  I also don't like that no matter how fast and how well I wash my hands after application, they still appear orange for a day or two.  And sometimes after application I get a weird taste in my mouth almost like it has seeped through my skin.  But all in all I like the product and it does what it is intended to do for a decent price.

Wow, it stays on you not your clothes!

**I have tried many sunless tanning lotions, and this one is by far the best.  The cost is reasonable, and the product superb.  Even when you sweat it's coloring remains on you and not your clothes.  It doesn't streak, it's not orange looking, it has a very natural tan look.  Within one application you are noticeably tan.  Good job.  It doesn't itch my skin either,  I have sensitive skin too.  **
