It's the middle of winter here in Wisconsin and well I desire the sun, but it's 5 below right now so that isn't going to work.

I have tried many types and brands for self-tanning products and I think I have found the one to love.

L'oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee. Yes I said Gelee and not a cream.  I love this stuff.  Goes on a lot smoother, dries fast, no funky smells to it and I don't feel like a grease pit after putting it on, not to mention this product works GREAT and fast!!  So great I was in a crazy mood and didn't do my arms or legs first...went right to the face and neck. I know scary, but WOW! Smooth and tan and I haven't had any break outs.

  • Quick absorbing, rapid-dry formula.
  • Even, 100% natural-looking tan without streaks.
  • Leaves skin incredibly smooth and soft.(vitamin E)

Directions:

  • Apply to fresh cleansed and exfoliated skin.  Smooth on evenly, massaging with both hands until absorbed.
  • Use sparingly around ankles, knees and elbows.
  • Wash hands thoroughly after use. (A big must for any self tanning product)
  • Let skin dry before putting on clothes.
  • Use daily until you have achieved the desired level of tan, and then apply 1-2 times a week.

I started using is a few days ago and I have to say I have noticed a change in color the first day. Ahhhh color! I like that it has vitamin E in it and with it being winter my skin is soaking it right up.

I would have to say I really prefer the Gelee over any creams.  I wash my face (in order for it to work faster exfoliate you skin (scroungy puff, apricot scrub, ex-foliating scrub pad etc). smooth on my regular face cream and then the Self-Tanning Gelee.  I let that soak in a bit and put my regular make-up on.  I will also put this on before I go to bed. I wake up glowing or at least I don't blend in with the snow anymore.

This has a very, very light scent which I am real happy about.  I can't stand harsh coconut smelling creams. (it is still winter here).

Warnings: This product does not contain a sunscreen and does not protect against sunburn.  Repeated exposure of unprotected skin while tanning may increase the risk of skin aging, skin cancer, and other harmful effects to the sin even if you do not burn. (Very important tips to remember!).

Bottom line this a great self-tanner.  I am not orange, it goes on light, dries quick and leaves you smoother then before, hasn't blocked my pores...not to mention the happy bronze glow you receive.  Time to get my arms to match my face.

Tip:  I use cheap latex gloves or sandwich baggies to cover my hands.  This way you won't have to worry about the palms of your hands tanning (they do say to wash after, but if you forget and I have afterwards...your palms will tan. This goes for most self tanners).

Thanks baabsy. I just picked this product up yesterday without knowing if I'd like it. I like your tip of using gloves to put it on. I will definately do that. Living in Pulaski WI, I know how you feel about wanting tan in the middle of winter.

In response to maryellenp's comment from Jan 5, 2008 at 7:23AM:

maryellen, I couldn't tell you for sure if this product would work for others that suffer from seasonal depression, but I myself do suffer from the winter blahs big time and it does make me feel better. I put this on my "ME TIME" list for myself to do.
