L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipcolor —

Quick View: I never believe it when lip color says it will last all day. I have tried many brands and they all fade after a few hours, even the so called 16 hour ones. But Ulta was having a sale, this lip color looked interesting, and the rest is history. I think this lip color is the longest wearing one I have ever tried and flattering too. The packaging is a little funky but, in all, it's decent stuff!

About L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipcolor

This lip color comes in 25 shades. Beware when ordering online or even looking at the packaging in a store. The colors are much lighter on the lips than the swatches show. The packaging is unique. It looks like a cigarette letter in a way. It is about three inches tall and by about an inch wide. The silver container acts a mirror which I didn't even realize until just now. Just remove the clear sticker on the back and you have a working mirror! Cool.

There is a tube on each side. One is the lip color which is in a brown tube. The white tube on the other side is the shiny gloss. At first, I didn't get how to get the tubes out of the container but then I realized you DON'T. Both tubes are contained so you don't lose one of the tubes. Kind of a good idea but a bit clunky for small purses or pockets.

Anyway, you push up the color tube and unscrew it. There is an angled sponged tip. Apply as you would any lip gloss. The gloss is thin and pretty. Wait two minutes for the gloss to dry, then push up the white tube, unscrew, and the shiny gloss is a clear, solid that you apply over your color. This makes the lips shiny and soft. You can apply the shiny gloss any time your lips feel dry or need shine.

I put this lip color to the test. I applied it then drank from a straw. No problem. Then I ate dinner. It was still there. I brushed my teeth. The color never budged. I patted my mouth dry. The color stayed. Eight hours later, the color was still there. I was impressed! This stuff really does work!

Taking the gloss off can be a chore and you need an oil based remover. But, after a long day, it will come off with regular facial cleanser.

I have to say, I am very impressed. I didn't get "raisin lips" - lips that get all puckered and dry when sporting long wearing lip color. The gloss is nice and shiny and the color stays put for hours. I am not sure if I like the packaging or not. It does keep both components together but I would like to throw the gloss part into my bag and leave the color at home. I don't need to use it again! Still, I will take a little bit of a bulky container for the long wear I get.

My Viewpoint

L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipcolor isn't infallible but it's darn close! This really does last for many hours through drinking, eating, and whatever else you do. It doesn't transfer on glasses or skin. The only issue I have is that the color swatches both on the package and on the net really don't accurately represent the shades. They are lighter and more pearly on the lips. Still, I have two shades now and plan to get more. I paid $8.99 for one and got the second free at Ulta.com but the cost is usually  around $11.99 each. Look for sales!!! 4 stars.

It's good but a tad drying as they all are. I just wish they had a better variety of colors. It seems they are all in the same family or at least all the ones I have are. Still like it though. I should get to CVS!

Great review! I just tried this stuff last week and it's the best yet and I've tried all the long-wearing stuff. And L'oreal is buy one get one free at CVS this week and with a $2 off coupon in the paper so now is a great time to buy more. Yep, I'm still addicted to lip products LOL.

I like that shade. It is a pain to take off sometimes but I find it comes off OK with my facial cleanser or even better, eye makeup remover.

I'm using the Terra Cotta color, it's amazing it lasts a long time, i never had to reapply it once, but... it's a pain to take off! :(

Heh, well this season's color is pink. Light and girly. I'm not sure I am a pink person but I bought some light pink gloss to try anyway. I'll let you know how it goes!

I know! It happens to everything I really like in the cosmetic world. This is new so it probably won't go poof for a while unless sales are bad. They shouldn't be because this is actually finally good, long wearing stuff!

I was amazed that they finally got it right after trying 100 times. I just ordered two more shades at Ulta where they are still on sale for $8.99 and you get a second one free. That's the way to try these without spending $12.00 on one. :)

Most men I now like deep red lipstick. I won't wear it. It reminds me of my 80 year old aunts.

I hate when my lips get all dry and look like raisins. It's not worth the long wear if I look all pucked up! lol.

Hey, sounds good! ;>

Everytime I get one I like, they discontinue it - drives me insane!! Maybe I should check this out.
