Ok toner...

I found this toner to be a tad drying for me, honestly. It smells nice, and I didn't have any breakouts, but for the price I would prefer something more moisturizing.

Misleading and not worth it.

I always thought I could trust this particular brand when it came to purchasing their products and being able to expect effectiveness. The toner is appealing, I was drawn in by the nice color, simple packages, and the pretty scent. Not to mention, the title Hydrafresh drew the word "hydrate" to my mind from the very beginning. I thought the toner would be perfect. The first few times I used it were fine, though I didn't notice any differences. Not too long after, perhaps about four or five days, I began to feel a bit of a tingle after the use of this product. No biggie, I told myself, sometimes face products have a bit of a tingle. But then I noticed that my skin was no longer smooth in the areas it had been, and the areas that had been clearing up weren't anymore. More than that, I had teeny tiny bumps all over my face. It was like a wave of itty bitty bumps had washed over my entire face! And after about a week and a half, when I used the toner, my face stung--not tingled--just plain stung. There is a small amount of alcohol in this product and whether or not that was the reason, I'm not sure. Regardless, it's advertised as alcohol free but with a small asterisk. It's misleading advertising and it's definitely not as gentle on the face as they claim it is. I would not recommend this product for any types of skin, but definitely not sensitive skin types! Scent Of course it smelled good. It smelt gentle and light, the opposite of the effect it gives.

Delivers as promised.

First of all, I am a 47 year old female with combination skin. I am getting the inevitable wrinkles, but am also prone to a breakout or too. My sister saw a dermatologist about her aging skincare routine and he recommended she use first a cleanser, then a toner, and finally a moisturizer. I bought this to give it a try. I have noticed my skin seems for evenly toned since using it. I have a few dark spots coming on my forehead and they are not nearly as noticeable as they were before I used this toner. They are not completely gone, but definitely have faded. I haven't had the break-outs of pimples like I used to when I only cleansed and moisturized. My skin has a glow to it now, instead of the sallow dull look it had before. Yes, the wrinkles are still coming, but my skin still looks and feels younger. I would recommend this product for anyone, of any age to use. Whether you are fighting breakouts, wrinkles, or age spots, you will see the difference.

Does a good job!

I used to use higher price toners from the department stores but when I found this product did just as good a job, I switched. I use it every day and my sensitive skin has had no adverse reaction to it.

L'Oreal Hydrafresh Toner - too drying and harsh for your skin

I used this toner for some time (I went through about 2 bottles) after my favorite Ultima II toner was discontinued. It looked like it had seemingly similar ingredients - what really drove me to buy the Hydrafresh was the beta hydroxy and the "alcohol-free" statement. Silly me, I didn't look closely into it. Well I started breaking out more than normal, not immediately after use of this toner, but maybe months into it. I never considered it could be the toner. I thought it was diet or exercise or hormones or other factors, but finally one day (after going through so many bottles) I decided to look closely at my bottle and realized the asterisk next to alcohol-free, so I turned the bottle around and read the ingredients and sure enough, alcohol was listed up there. My face tends to react badly when there's alcohol in a product, which totally explains why I was breaking out! I stopped using that toner immediately, and sure enough, I stopped getting my awful breakouts. I think it is horrible of L'Oreal to advertise this as an alcohol-free toner when it is so clearly not alcohol-free. The fact that they need to put and asterisk and some fine print means that they should not market this as an alcohol-free toner. Shame on you, L'Oreal. This could work for you if your skin does not freak out when there's alcohol in a product like mine does. But in general it's not a good idea to use a product with alcohol in it, since it usually overdries your skin. I did like the smell of the product. It was very refreshing.
