I recently splurged and spent a pile of money at a salon for a special event thinking that it would be superior to my own at home coloring efforts, and I was shocked to discover that the only difference was the price....the color wasn't any truer, and didn't last any longer, and wasn't any less harsh on my hair than using the Loreal feria products.  Plus a coupon makes it an even better deal, and from time to time, I have seen this product on a buy one/get one free deal at places like Wal-mart.   It is easy to use, reasonably priced, and doesn't overly damage hair.  There is a toll free number inside the carton for help line assistance or questions not covered in the directions, but the directions and diagrams are pretty comprehensive and specific.  I have also found that even from coloring to coloring, the results are pretty consistent if you stay within the same shade.  I have a real issue with red highlights intensifying if I go to a lighter shade, and I do not experience any greater degree of brassiness with this product all by itself than I did with the salon process and a double drabbing rinse...so it is faster overall with similar result.  I like the fact that the Feria line is more of dimensional color, meaning that there are both highlights and lowlights in your hair, a much more natural result that some home kits where everything comes out so uniform that it looks fake.  The kit provides more than adequate conditioner, although if your hair is long, you might run short of color product and have to buy two kits...Do make sure to do the allergy test in the instructions if you are coloring yourself for the first time or trying this product for the first time.  I haven't had any allergic issues, but my Mom said that her scalp felt as if it were on fire and she had to rinse it out immediately, before any coloring had really taken place.  She also said that her scalp felt very sensitive and irritated for several days afterwards.   The recommended patch test should alert you, if you are sensitive, before you risk your scalp and any long term discomfort.
