I was looking for something different. Me, well I like variety it's the spice of life! I have tried one or two colored mascara's, didn't really think they did much for me. Evidently they do. Just plain black well with my long eyelashes, can look overpowering on me. Brown just looks blah on me. So recently when I was at the store I was on the hunt. I did have a coupon in hand, and a sale to seek. My coupon was for ***L'OREAL Double Extend Eye Illuminator***, I was becoming the determinator. If I should purchase this product. Do I go ahead, take the chance that this will work for me, or not. That is what I would have to determine. The varieties, would go with your eye color. The package states Illuminates Green Eyes, or one for Blue Eyes. I think you get my drift here. So of course having Green Eyes, (which can change a smidge here and there depending on the color I wear). The first few times the*** L'OREAL Double Extend Eye Illuninator ***went on very nicely. Didn't really add any length to my lashes, although I really don't need to. If you do, I think it's important to know. The second step is where the color part comes in, this is a two ended mascara black on the one end. Color on the other, the color side, the brush looks very funky. It is functional, at first I thought huh? But it works very nicely. Now after using this after a few times, the black is already starting to clump on my lashes. That's a look I can do without. Nobody wants clumpy eye lashes, it's just not a look we are shooting for. The bronze color is nice, it's like a hint of highlights. It's noticeable, slightly as this is not over doing your eyes for ummm, a look you do not want. I think ***L'OREAL ***has a good idea here, with the color. Just what's up with the clumping already? I've only used the product for maybe 2 weeks, so it's not like it's old. And it is fairly new in the stores from what I can tell. **My View: *L'OREAL Double Extend Eye Illuminator, ***does do a nice job illuminating with the bronze color. Something just need to be done about the clumping. I don't believe I've purchased L'OREAL mascara before, so maybe this isn't a new problem. It's hard to say if I would recommend this product or not. If you've used ***L'OREAL ***before and you are happy with the result. Then give it a go, if not you might experience what I did.

I had heard such wonderful things about **L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara **that I was really excited when Bzz.com sent me a tube to try. That excitement turned to ho-hum very quickly. I gave this mascara a fair chance before writing this review. I have used it at least ten times but I am no more impressed with it now than I was the first time I used it. To begin with, I'm all about my make-up routine being as quick and as easy as possible. This product adds to the amount of time it takes to make my lashes look like I want them to look. It has two sides--two wands. I have to apply step one which has a normal looking brush, then before that mascara has even dried well, I have to apply step two, the opposite side, which has a short stubby brush. Double the time equals strike one. Strike two is the amount of clumping that occurs when I use ths mascara. I tried everything I could to make it not clump but it took so long to get it even that I was frustrated each time I used it. Side one doesn't clump, but side one doesn't give much volume, either. It lengthens okay, but you need that big brush on side two to get the volume and with the volume comes the clumping. Clumps are out of the question for me. I hate clumps. So I would have to go back over my lashes with side one to try to smooth out the clumps, which was a pain in the rump! Next is the way this mascara feels on my lashes. It is very heavy. I've never felt such heavy mascara in my life. If you can feel your mascara on your eyelashes, that's just wrong. That's also strke three, you're out! The best thing I can say about this mascara is--thank goodness I didn't pay for it. CoverGirl Lash Blast, Maybelline The Falsies, L'Oreal Lash Out, and L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara are all much better mascaras than L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara. I don't recommend it at all.

I received a sample of this mascara as a result of a bzzcampaign I am in. I usually buy just the basic mascara, so when I opened my kit, the first thing I thought was: "whoa!" It was not what I was expecting at all. The bottle was large, and as you can see by the pictures, it is double-ended. The other thing that I was not expecting, if you look at the bottom wand in the picture, there is a ball on the end of it. The base mascara is pretty basic. It is a dark color that you apply to your entire lash. It is thick, and if you are not used to having 'extend' mascara it is slightly distracting. The illuminator end of the mascara is **not** like your basic mascara at all. It is sparkly and almost like mascara containing metallic-looking glitter. This can be applied to just the tip, or for a more bold look you can apply it from root to tip. This coat is **very** heavy and with the sparkle and all, takes a bit of getting used to. I actually ended up picking off most of this layer the first time I wore it. It is not required to wear both layers, making this a very versatile mascara. There are not many color-combinations but the combinations that are available are pre-chosen to accentuate certain eye colors. That being said, I am not sure how I felt about the product. I think that if you are adventurous, don't mind the weight on your lashes, and like to go to parties you would probably like this product. I am thinking especially teens and twenty-somethings. If you want a more traditional look, are not comfortable with sparkles on your face or do not like to feel the products you are wearing, I would say stay away. Would I Recommend It? - If you like your make-up to stand out. - If you like sparkles. - If you are bold. - If you are playful. - If you like to experiment. - If you don't mind the heavy feeling. Then yes. Definitely. Otherwise, no.

I was lucky enough to be invited by Bzzagent.com to try L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara (Black). I don't know any girls who wouldn't be excited to try free makeup. I was kind of scared to put it on at first because my eye lashes are already long. They are kind of thin, but long. I was releaved that it didn't make them much longer but I kind of feel bad for people who want more length. The black color is perfect and I like the glitter and how easy it was to dictate how much I put on. The mascara was a bit clumpy but I loved how easy it was to put on and how much volume it gave my lashes. The most important (and best) part is that they made my eyes look amazing. My biggest problem is that the mascara flakes off a lot quicker than I am used to and doesn't feel good when it gets into my eyes.

I don't always wear mascara as often as I might--partly because I often have problems with little specs form the makeup ending up on my contact lenses. I wasn't sure if the L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator would be any different, but I was able to try a complimentary sample of the product as a BzzAgent and was eager to give it a try. I found the Double Extend Illuminator Mascara easy to use. It is a two-step process, but I mastered using it pretty quickly. The first step is a standard mascara that lengthens your lashes. The second step adds complementary highlights to your lashes. For my eyes, the color is Black Bronze. There are bits of coppery flashes among my lashes, which I think looks great with my green eyes. I found the mascara to stay in place and not bother my eyes while I'm wearing contact lenses. It is also easy to remove with the natural eye makeup remover that I use. Overall, I think the mascara complements your eye color nicely and stays in place well, which is a nice plus for people who wear contact lenses like I do.

I'm a Bzzagent and I got a free sample of this to try and I have to say I actually love it. It did lenghten and add volume like it said it would but it also made my eyes sparkle. The little "pearls" really brought out my eye color. It was easy to switch between daytime and nighttime wear. I woul totally recommend this to my friends.

I am a BzzAgent and received a sample of this mascara to review. I absolutely love it. This mascara has two applicators (one at each end of the tube). The actual mascara applicator does a great job at lengthening your lashes and it doesn't clump! Yeay! I am sure most of you reading this get tired of mascaras that clump and then it is virtually impossible to "de-clump" without removing the mascara altogether. The consistency of the mascara itself is really good. At the other end of the tube is a funky little rounded little brush that has a formula which illuminates the mascara. I'd recommend putting the illuminator on right after you apply the mascara as it is a bit more difficult to apply if you let it dry and move onto the other eye. I love the applicator. It also separates your lashes which is a bonus. I think if you haven't tried a two-in-one mascara before, you will be pleasantly surprised at how it makes your lashes look. If you have tried it before, I think you will love this!

This double-ended mascara is great. I loved the large brush on the mascara side - very good non-clumping mascara. I also liked the small ball brush applicator on the "illuminator" side - you can add as much sparkle as you want. I like that it's not too over-the-top in illumination - you can wear it all day (from work to evening) without it being inappropriate. You can only see it in the sun or certain lighting - the people that have commented on the extra sparkle just happened to notice it. I would recommend this to everyone - it just adds a little brightness to the day (and extra pizzazz at night). I didn't give it five stars because I know some people may not like or would ever wear the illuminator side, in which case there are other L'Oreal mascaras that may be more appropriate. Their mascaras in particular are good, long-wearing, non-clumping, non-flaking and non-irritating, which is important for me because I wear contacts.

I am a BzzAgent, and I received a full-size sample of L'Oreal Paris-Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara to try and review. The Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara is available in four shades, each come with a black basecoat and an illuminating topcoat to enhance your eye color. I received the Black Quartz for Brown Eyes. I first applied the black base coat, which made my eyelashes look really long and full without getting clumpy. Next I applied the illumining topcoat, which was a very pretty, shimmery brown. The topcoat made my brown eyes look beautiful. I really loved the shape of the brush for the topcoat. The awesome round tip of the brush makes applying the topcoat extremely easy and fun. I loved this shimmery mascara and I highly recommend it.

I got a free full size tube of this in Crystal black in the mail. The color is very black. The side that is suppose to add a bit of light and sparkle didn't seem to do much. I didn't think my lashes looked longer or fuller. The best part about the product was it didn't clump, flake or run after wearing it all day. The worse part was the formula is a bit thin and doesn't dry very fast so it kept getting on my eyelids. All in all I would probably not buy this mascara.
