I have been dying my hair for about 8 years off and on since my hair started turning a dark dirty blonde, so I've tried a lot of drugstore hair dyes. I used to buy the cheapest dye available when I didn't really know any better until one day I realized my hair looked awful. So after trying some pricier at home dyes with not very good results I came across L'Oreal's Colour Experte in Toasted Coconut and gave it a try. I am honestly impressed by the colour results each and every-time I use it. The colour is consistent with each dye, and it does not fade! Without the highlight kit I still have nice high and low lights. The smell of the dye is not so overwhelming that I can't breathe, and the conditioner is very moisturizing. I've had numerous compliments and many surprised people when I informed them it wasn't from a salon. I've recently tried using other more natural dyes on my hair in an attempt to take better care of my hair, but I haven't encountered anything close to the results from L'Oreal. My only tiny complaint really is about the cost, it isn't overly expensive when compared to going to a salon, but I do wish they had more coupons available or the stores had better sales. I would recommend L'Oreal Colour Experte to anyone looking for nice consistent results!

There is one person whose hair I do which has light brown hair that is very easy to dye. The color lifts quickly and easily, and it stays on the hair usually pretty long. I got the L"Oreal Pairs Coluleur Experte Express in Medium Blonde Toasted Coconut when she wanted to go to a multi-level of blonde. I usually do my own combination of highlights, lowlights, and main color, but this time, I decided that perhaps it would be best to use this kit to make life easier. I had used it once before with good (not WOW) results, so I thought it was a good bet.

Boy was I wrong.

Effectiveness
Although this set did lift some on the hair, it really did not lift that well at all. The hair was left with sort of lighter brown hair and not blonde at all. It was like a little lighter brown and little darker brown instead of the blonde hair that I had expected. I have used blonde dyes on this same hair before with fantastic lifting results and the hair was not dyed any dark color at the time. This just didn't seem to do it for the hair well. The condition was not good and the hair got ratty fast afterward too. I have to say that this kit was a huge disappointment in this color combo. I had used similar dye colors with this person before and great results. This kit just didn't cut it that well for me.

Ease of Application
Directions are plain, and the supplies in the kit are easy to use, but the end results just didn't wow me at all. It was easy to apply and not overly tough to do, but the end result made it not worth any work at all. I rate ease of application good because it was not hard, but after all of that work to have it not really look that good made me not want to buy it again. The condition of the hair too made me not interested to try this product again.

Everything you need in one.

Comments about L'Oreal Couleur Experte Express Hair Color:

I have used a few different shades of this and have loved all of them but one. The first time I used it it didn't come out like it was supposed to and I called them and they made it right with me so I could fix it. Every other time I have used it I have had great results. It comes almost exact to what is shown on the box. It is super easy and convenient, since everything you need to color and put the highlights you want are all in one kit. You don't have to worry about mixing two different brands or waiting weeks after doing one color to be able to finish the look you want with the highlights, it's all there together. Love the colors they offer and the color combinations look good together.

Effectiveness
This stuff works great. It leaves you with bright natural looking colors. It covers evenly and the color lasts for a long time. It actually stays the color you started with, without fading out after a week, as some others do.

Ease of Application
Applying this is generally pretty easy, even for people that don't ever dye their own hair. It has easy step-by-step instructions. The only thing that might make it a little easier, depending on what the person wants, is if it offered a highlighting cap of some sort. Sometimes just using the finger comb to apply your highlights just doesn't cut it or give you as many highlights as you want, or where you want them.

Professional looking color with highlights.

Comments about L'Oreal Couleur Experte Express Hair Color:

This hair coloring kit is amazing. Ive received many compliments after using it. Whats funny is that women actually asked me if I got my highlights done at a salon! If you want color that looks expensive, but dont have the money to spend on a full salon experience, then I suggest you try out this product! I was impressed not only with the hair color itself, which is highly pigmented, but also with the highlighter, which beautifully blends into the hair and looks natural. Having patience and a steady hand will help along in the application process. What I did is clipped my hair up and gradually highlighted sections of my hair, slowly moving up. This created a more natural look than if I would have just highlighted the top of my head. And I was very surprised by the ease of using this product. I would advise women to not be afraid to try it out for themselves. You might actually love the results!

Honest to goodness the best hair coloring ANYONE SHOULD BUY FROM ANYSTORE.. It`s like having your own salon at home, without the wait, time, and fancy price tag.. Easy to Apply especially cream based, excellence coverage especially gray, black, auburn etc.. The price is exceptional, and with the added bonus of the cream you use beforehand to make sure color truly stays is Amazing. I've used all brands, gone to the salon, and really been let down.... If you truly want an exceptional product that actually does what it claims and the result is flawless, then look no further, what do you got to loose!

I recently dyed my hair and i have long, wavy natural hair. The dying process was very easy, and after washing the color out with their deep conditioner, it left my hair silky and nice! I was so happy because i thought my hair would be more dry and frizzy for coloring it!

Got rid of the grays but the color washes away

By

from Houston, TX

Comments about L'Oreal Couleur Experte Express Hair Color:

It doesn't matter what your age is, those pesky grey hairs appear and you are ready to run straight to the salon - or the drugstore. I put it off as long as I could but after a haircut that just made the greys show up even more (but I love the style and cut) I decided to color my hair at home, something I haven't done in years. Looking for the new John Freida foam hair color I couldn't find it so ended up home with the **L'Oreal Couleur Experte Hair Color Mahogany Brown. **

**What did I like about **L'Oreal Couleur Experte Hair Color Mahogany Brown? ****

- easy to use

- not as expensive as salon

- leaves hair healthy

- doesn't smell as bad as many others

- even as color fades natural looking highlights remain

**What didn't I like about L'Oreal Couleur Experte Hair Color Mahogany Brown?**

- part 2 for the highlights isn't so easy. Even after combing through my hair the highlight brush tip kept getting caught in it and we couldn't get a good smooth application.

- doesn't last very long. - Day 1 I wasn't sure at first if the color was right - but that's not the products fault. Day 2 I really liked it. But the color keeps fading - even with quality shampoo products. It's almost like I keep getting a little bit different hair color each week after coloring it. And yes, I followed the directions and am using the conditioner.

**L'Oreal Couleur Experte Hair Color Mahogany **Brown is easy, and I can do it while the kids are asleep at night meaning I don't lose my little bit of time they are in school to getting my hair colored. But my last salon color was 50.00 (this product was 15.99) and the highlights and color lasted much longer without fading.

Effectiveness
At first it got rid of the grey hair, but washed out quickly.

Ease of Application
Pretty much the same application as other hair color products. Follow directions carefully, apply as instructed, rinse and "repeat."

Awesomness

By

from Arlington, TX

Comments about L'Oreal Couleur Experte Express Hair Color:

I love to experiment with hair colors and styles however I am not a big fan of paying a whole bunch of money at hair salon for something as easy dying my hair so I prefer to do it at home myself. I have tried a lot of differernt hair coloring products and this one is my favorite. **L'Oréal Couleur Experte Hair Color **provides a two step system that first is a all over coloring and the second step is a highlight. It is available in many different shades and each is a two step system. It is easy to apply, even the highlighting. It makes coloring and highlghting your hair at home simple and more importantly affordable. Because it is from a leader in hair care like L'Oreal you know it is of high quality.

If you are a budget conscious person who still likes to pamper themselves, look beautiful without spending a bunch and or are a do it yourself kinda girl this is a great product and I would say...give it a try.

Amazing Shine and Color!

By

from Tom Bean, Texas

Comments about L'Oreal Couleur Experte Express Hair Color:

This was the first time I have used this product from L'Oreal and I am kicking myself for not trying any sooner! The color is rich and beautiful!! I cannot believe how pretty my hair looks once I finished the coloring and toning highlights! I chose to use the browns and, again, it is rich and has color depth that I have never seen before. It's a two step process that gives the best results that I have ever had even compared to a professional coloring but for 1/4 the price!

The first step is to do the "all-over" coloring then style your hair as usual. This initial coloring is easy to do and the color stays put on my long hair and doesn't run down my face. (PLUS in my book!!) After I have rinsed out and conditioned my hair, I then style it like normal then move on to the second step of highlighting. Once again, I mix the bleach, apply it with the magic wand and brush to create a look that is natural and really outstanding. My highlights are a very mellow light brown on a deeper coppery brown and they really came out great. It even masked my grays!!

Give this a try if you are a slave to coloring your gray!!

Amazingly easy and Accurate!

Comments about L'Oreal Couleur Experte Express Hair Color:

My purchase was for the color Biscotti. All the same product and i'm very happy with the results. I've been using this particular hair product for about a year and can't say enough about how great it is. Although, there are several steps to getting the results you are looking for, it is way less expensive than going to a hair stylist. And the results are virtually the same. I come from a long line of hair stylists and due to the economy, have needed to cut my costs. In the steps, you first color your whole head with the color that comes in the box. This can be a little scary, as the color will be very dark. However, once you put the second stage on, it looks totally different. I use the little brush to separate the strands or locks of hair I want to lighten. Sometimes I use my fingers to help me get the lightener as close to the roots as possible. Remember, the longer you leave the lightener on, the lighter the highlights will be. It takes a couple of tries to get it just right. The results are fantastic!
