I had seen the mineral makeups sold on TV and although I would have loved to try them, I simply could not afford it.  I happened to look at cosmetics at Wal-Mart and saw the L'Oreal mineral makeup display.  I decided to compare the different brands that also have mineral foundations and especially compared their ingredient lists.  L'Oreal's seemed to be one without many chemical additives and was best value per ounce, so I bought the foundation and finisher.  They didn't have any samples available to test with, so the first shade I got was a little light at the time. I saved it and now, in the dead of winter, it's just about right cuz I'm so pale. I later went to KMart and got the next darker shade of foundation which was a better shade for my skin. KMart had it on sale so I also got their "glow" in mauve which is very pretty.

My biggest complaint about this mineral makeup is that it has talc as a filler.  Because of the talc, it makes your skin feel dried out.  I have combination/oily skin so that's not usually a problem for me!  I also noticed that my fine lines seem to show up a bit more sometimes.

The coverage is good.  I like a medium coverage and I can easily get that with this product.
The container isn't very big.  That could be a pro or a con.  Pro: doesn't take up a lot of space.  Con:  it can be difficult to get the makeup on the brush and to tap any excess back into the container without making a mess.  I also don't really like how the brush is attached to the lid.  I find it's kind of awkward to have to tap the underside of the brush/lid into the container so you don't have makeup everywhere.  The concept is good, but not super-practical.

I usually use the glow for a "shimmer" effect on my cheeks and side of face.  The directions say to make a "3" shape starting at your temple and then down to your cheek and finally to your jawline.  Then I will wear a little cheek color and eye colors that are a different brand.

The finisher isn't that great.  I expected it to make my foundation "set", but I've found it doesn't seem to do much at all except make my face paler if I get too much on.  I do use it, but I'm not sure it's actually necessary.

Overall, L'Oreal doesn't have a bad product here, but even at $12 a pop, you can end up spending $40 or more to get all they offer in the set.  So it's not cheap by any means.

Will I buy it again?  I don't know.  Will see how long one container lasts me and will better know whether it's worth the $12.

didn't even know loreal had it, i will have to look closer at this product, but the $40 price tag is probably enough to keep me from actually purchasing.
