Worth Every Penny

I have UNBELIEVABLY sensitive skin. I have literally tried hundreds of skincare products, from really expensive to cheap drugstore brands to prescriptions. Almost everything I have tried has irritated my skin in some way or another. Of the few that didn't most didn't really "work". My mother first picked up some L'Occitane products for me on a trip to France. I was hesitant at first. The products smelled beautiful, but beautifully scented products are usually a guarantee of irritated skin for me. And the ingredient list was in French so I couldn't check for any of the ingredients that I know irritate me. I finally got up the nerve to try them and I was absolutely thrilled with the results. Not only did they not irritate my skin but it hadn't looked or felt better in years. I will say that the first time I went into the store to buy some for myself I was rather horrified by the prices. But for the quality and the results, not to mention the fact that the products do last, they are really worth the cost.

The French Gem

4

**L'Occitane** is a little gem amongst skincare brands - Provençal in origin, they provide a wide range of products, from bath soaps to perfumes and even anti-aging creams and what not, perfect for a wide variety of tastes and ages. You don't necessarily have to be old and/or a major Francophile to love this store (though if you love France, and anything French, you'll fall in love with this place). I have used a lot of bath + body care products, and have really fell in love with **L'Occitane's** shower gels and milled soaps. If you have ever picked up a bottle of lavender or rose-scented soap and recoiled because it smells like cheap dishwashing liquid, you will not experience that in here. The lavender soaps smell like real lavender - soft and powdery with a richness and heart that can only come from *pure* lavender oil. I also adore this place because they carry peony-scented products, and that's quite rare. The **Pivoine Flora** shower gel is rich, frothy, and leaves my skin silky soft, laced with the most delicate aroma of dewy, pepper peonies that makes me feel as if I just immersed myself in a springtime wonderland. The **Fleurs Chèrie** bar soap I purchased for my grandmother is an absolutely exquisite blend of neroli and orange blossom - I borrowed it one time and felt transported to a Roman bath like in a Lawrence-Tadema painting. Most, if not all, of their products are perfect for sensitive skin (I have irritable skin, unfortunately, so I should know), and I have never experienced any itchiness, breakouts, or dryness using any of their products. Prices might be high on some items, especially the perfumes and some of the anti-aging products, but all-in-all, whatever money you spend here is worth it in the long run. Every product lasts quite a considerable amount of time, and much love, attention, and care is placed into each and every bottle, bar, and tube. Even if you can't take a trip to Provençe yourself, **L'Occitane** has a quick and easy but luxurious way of wafting you off to some shimmering violet field of dancing lavender, or endless pastel pink grooves of cherry blossoms, without ever leaving the comfort of your home. Scent Anyone with a clear nasal passage can tell these are real, natural fragrance oils - no more acrid notes that leave you feeling just icky by the end of the day. There's a wide range of scents, from spicy and sensual ambers, bright citruses like lemon verbena and haunting orange blossom, to elegant neroli, and the romantically youthful peony. Many even come unscented, if you're one of those people who do not particularly care (or cannot take) perfumes. Absorption Ever had a bar of soap that left your skin feeling tighter than unoiled leather? Yeah, me too. But now, I no longer feel like the mini-Sahara desert once I step out of the shower. From the triple milled bar soaps to the thick, frothy delights of shower gels, every soap, moisturizer, and cream quickly absorbs into the skin without irritation, greasiness, or just that unpleasant 'clogged pores' feeling. Even after drying, you feel as if you've just swam through a sparkling glacial spring - it's absolutely invigorating. Effectiveness L'Occitane is pretty consistent with all their products, though I have never tried their anti-aging creams, so I cannot quite say on those, but all I have purchased from them I have walked away very satisfied with the results. Great, long-lasting aromas that are pleasing, soft, dewy skin, and a renewed mind and soul are enough to keep me coming back again and again!

All natural miracle in a tube!

I was recently introduced to these products via a free mini-facial event that was held at their store. Afterwards, they sent me home with personalized samples of shampoo, conditioner, facial hydration cream and a cooling hand cream gel all in a gift bag sprayed with my favorite scent! The products are totally amazing! Scent They have various scents, including some seasonal ones. My faves have to be the Candied Fruit, Verbena and Lavender. Absorption Excellent! The Cooling Hand Gel is not greasy at all, absorbs completely and super quick and leaves a really neat cooling feeling. Effectiveness I have combination, sensitive skin which is extremely dry between my eyebrows. That part is so dry it peels, however, since I've been using the Hydrating Cream, my skin hasn't had ANY issues at all!! This is the first time I've had results like this and am looking forward to buying the full-size product. The samples I received are very generous portions and a little goes a looong way with this line.

Love the lavender, hate the price!

I have to admit I love lavender. It is one of my favorite scents. So when I received a bottle of L'Occitane Lavender Foaming Bath as a present I was delighted to give it a go in my shower and bath. It truly smells divine. Just like lavender should smell. Not too sweet like some other products. Plus it does make a lot of bubbles especially if you use it with a spa tub. I had to turn off the spa so I could see my feet!I went online to purchase another bottle, but found the price was too prohibitive to even consider buying. L'Occitane products are truly luxurious but super expensive. I am sure they are priced like they are because they use the real scents, not chemically produced ones. I just wish they could bring the prices down a little. In today's economy it just doesn't make any sense to purchase something so expensive. So, if you find yourself feeling flush and **I mean flush**, you might want to check it out especially if you can get free shipping or other gifts with it. Maybe a Mother's Day Gift? Hint, hint.

Decent product

Someone recently fave my mom a L'Occitane skin care product (facial cream), and I wanted to like it, but something about the scent just seems a little off to me. I think it's too strong, and it smells it a little weird (the one I have is the honey lemon scent, by the way). The cream itself seems to work decently well, but the smell of it bothers me enough that I do not really like using it that much. The smell is less conspicuous in small amounts, but I don't really like the smell of it on my face. Overall, I would not recommend this product if you do not like scented products. Also, L'Occitane products are pretty expensive, and I do not think they are worth all the hype. Cheaper products also do the trick (and I like the Garnier Nutritioniste facial moisturizer better than the L'Occitane one anyway). Based on this product, I would not spend any of my own money on L'Occitane products.

LOVE IT!

My love affair with L'occataine started innocent enough. I was shopping one evening with a friend, when we stumbled into the L'occataine Boutique. As soon as you open the door, the fragrance takes you away to the French Provence. The scents of Lavender soothe your soul. I was sold even before a very knowledgeable staff member offered to treat us to mini facials. She first ask about our skin care concerns, & proceeded to offer products to address our issues. By the time she was done my skin felt as soft as a newborn baby. I left with my bag of goodies, excited to start using them everyday. These products have truly transformed my skin! L'occitaine is so much more than soaps & lotions (although they are incredible!). I highly recommend this brand, you will not be disappointed!

I recently received a few products from L'Occitane .I have never used them before and I must say they are very nice I especially liked the Verbena Body Lotion .The scent is very lovely and it goes on smoothly and makes skin nice and soft .I am not positive that it works better than other less expencive body lotions but the fragrance is very soothing after a stressful day and the packaging is very nice .This item really makes me want to try other L'Occitane products .

Wow...love all the products from this company

I was introduced to L'occitane over the past couple of years...and now I am an addict!  My favorite products are Ruban d'orange lotion and eau de toilette, and the cherry blossom of the same.  What I love about these products is that you can use the lotions as a fragrance and as skin care.  It is the first line of products that has done away with the dreaded chicken skin on the backs of my arms.  This is nothing short of a miracle.  Furthermore, I don't have to use my more expenisve fragrances as the lotion serves as a lovely everyday scent. There's certainly something for everyone at L'occitane, whether you shop at their stores or online.  Try it, you'll love it!
