I have had my LG Washer for two years now and about 6 months after the purchase I began to notice a oder from inside the washing machine. It seems that due to the poor design water stays in several areas of the machine and mold begins to grow. I had a service agreement and called the repair person who came out and said that they see this problem with quite a few LG front load washers.

This is not a cheap washer and I felt that I was getting a well made product. If you happen to have made the mistake of purchasing one of these lemons then you should go to smellywasher.com. They sell a powder that will remove the mold and the oder. Amazing that a problem like this has spawned a whole industry of products due to a poor design. Would never purchase another LG appliance again. Washing machines are supposed to just work. Especially when you pay close to $1,000 for them....!

Chuck48098 after you've run a load and the machine is empty try this 1st shut the door 2nd turn it on (do not select a cycle) 3rd Push the spin sense button twice (to select highest spin) 4th Push play, It will spin most of the remaining water from the drum. I also leave the washer door open. I know it's a hassle to leave the door open, my laundry area is a hallway. But then I've never had the mold problem.
