I become quite attached to some of my technology.  Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it right?  My Motorola Rzr has held up through thick and thin, drops, water, and children playing with it.  I loved it -- except for one thing -- the texting. As texting became something I needed to do every day, several times a day, and my phone was becoming pretty old, I decided to purchase the Verizon, LG enV2 in maroon and black.

Price for the LG enV2 in maroon and black: $129.99 however I had a $50.00 mail in rebate as well as one month free Verizon Navigator -- GPS system.

My Viewpoint:  The LG enV2 in Maroon and Black is one of many phones out there that offer easy texting and the full keyboard.  But there are a few features that set this phone apart. First, I have young children, and a friend who owns the Samsung Glyde and another with the LG Voyager; both these phones have touch screen functions. After spending time with them I knew that a touch screen was not a smart choice for me.  I eliminated the Blackberry phones, because honestly I don't want my phone to do everything but clean the house.  And I didn't want to pay for the extra web, video and data services that are required for a Blackberry. As for the Palm Treo and Centro, the keyboard buttons were far too small. The Jukes phones were too small.  I kept returning to the LG enV2, the maroon and silver color was so different, and well, pretty, all the features were there and it was the right price.

The LG enV2 is so very easy to use. The similarities to the external phone to my Razr made getting used to a new phone a breeze. My favorite features on the LG enV2 are the big external buttons for dialing, the fun and easy texting including animations, graphics, and quick text, the great big screen and the VZ Navigator.  The navigator is a one month free trial, but it is certainly an option to consider keeping as it also eliminates the need to purchase a GPS system.

There are several different displays, themes, preloaded graphics and ringtones.  I like some of them so much the idea of downloading one was pretty useless.   I also like how easy it is to take video and pictures and send them to dad so he can enjoy the children's busy day.  You can use your own recordings, photos, videos etc to truly and inexpensively personalize your phone. The menu is easy to navigate.

Calls are easy to make, using both the internal and external dialing or voice commands.   you to call as well as access other features with voice commands.

The only things I don't like about the phone are small -- and by small I mean the small external screen. While I can get date and time and notices, I can't really have any cute graphic there and see everything.  Another problem is the volume.  IT would be nice if the voice commands prompts were louder, as well as better at filtering out background noise.

But these are small things, and overall, the LG enV2 in maroon and black has it all!  It is  attractive, easy to use and had some really amazing personalization features as well as the ability to do everything that all the other phones do from calling, texting, GPS navigation, pictures, video, music, and web. And it is the same price or less than other phones that have all the same features. This is the best cell phone I have owned and so far, my friends are "green with envy" as they wish they had the LG enV2.

Oh my, I just did a post on the Once upon a time...board and I linked a cellphone review with your name!!

Great review BTW! I was eligible for a new phone in October but I think I'll keep mine until I start having a lot of problems. I don't text. Shoot, I don't even turn my phone on unless I'm driving or out and about for a while. ~Gigi
