LG makes a GREAT phone then adds a crappy battery. enV Touch.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Quick View: I recently switched from a much simpler (but very good) LG cell phone to the new** LG enV Touch Cell** and wow, the Touch is awesome but there is a BIG issue. The battery life is the worst of any phone I ever had. It kind of makes all the features not so cool since the battery runs out after a few hours of use.

About the LG - enV Touch Cell Phone (VX1100) Cell Phone

I am not going to get into EVERYTHING this amazing phone has but here are the things I feel are important to consider when deciding whether to choose this phone.

The phone measures about 4.5 inches long by 2 inches wide by 0.66 inch thick. It's slightly heavier than many others because it houses a flip ...

Earlier this year it was time to get my new-in-two phone from Verizon. I had previously had the LG Voyger which I loved. It was simple, clean, small, and overall did what I needed it to do. I almost did not want to go through the hassle of gettign used to a new phone. My husband dragged me to the store and once I saw the enV Touch I realized it was the newer version of the Voyger and it was the perfect fit for me. Let me just say I'm not currently a smart phone user which works for me but if you want a snazzy smart phone this is not it. But if you want a phone that is easy to use, has a good camera, plenty of features and let's you check email with its small required data plan ($9.99 a month) then this is great. I love that it opens up and has a full keyboard which I use all the time. I just can not get used to the touch screen keyboards of most phones. This touch screen is pretty good though for typing if you go that route. Overall a good phone.

I've never hated a phone more than the env touch!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

So here I am almost 2 years into the hellish nightmare adventure with my Env Touch. Let me start out by saying at first I absolutely loved this phone. It had the touch screen feature which I desperatly wanted and a pretty decent three mega pixel camera, too. The screen, for as accident prone as I am, had help up amazingly well. No real scratches or cracks. The camera seems like it has gone down hill. The pictures use to be crisp and clear and now are blurry and shaky looking. The worst part about this phone has got to be the battery. I have charged it one day and have it completely dead the next morning. Talk about annoying. If I leave it in my purse and receive a text message the screen wil...

WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER OWNED

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

When I first bought the ENVYTOUCH, I loved it. I liked the design of it, all of that. Then, it began to give me many problems. It never stays charged which is about the main thing I look for in a phone as I am on the go all the itme. Secondly, it powers on and off for no reason which can be incredibly annoying. The screen blacks out or turns a lime green color. It is literally a piece of crap. Not to mention, this is the 3rd replacement phone because all of them have messed up. One of my keys doesn't even work since the day I got it. The next time I purchase a phone, it definitely won't be an LG. I do like how easy it is to use, but everything else really doesn't appeal to me. Why have ...

Could Be Better

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I purchased this phone with a new contract from Verizon Wireless in December. I was looking for a phone with a variety of features and internet capability. Being a new customer to Verizon, and not being very familiar with the phones they offer, I chose this phone by recommendation from the Verizon Wireless representative I was working with. I liked the phone at first. Although, I found that the more that I use the phone, the more I find that could be better. First of all, this phone has a lock-out feature which is a button on the side of the phone that locks out the touch screen for say, if you put it in your purse or pocket. This worked great for me at first, but I found when I put the phon...

I hate the LG EnV Touch!

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

Okay, when I first got this phone it was a replacement for another LG phone and I was totally excited about getting a new phone with a touch screen. I thought that like other touch screens that this one would have a built in heat sensor so the phone would not have buttons pushed while being in my purse or my pocket. Boy, was I wrong. This phone doesn't have that kind of technology. I have spent the whole time apologizing to people because my phone will randomly call people in my phone book! Not only that the phone has a tendency to sign itself onto the internet! I have had the phone replaced twice and I cannot wait to get my phone upgrade. This is the worst phone I have ever owned. The only nice thing that I can say about it is that I am glad it has a nice size screen and a physical keyboard. If the phone did not have these features I don't think I could say one nice thing about it. Friends don't let friends get the LG EnV Touch!

stylish, fun, and the perfect size.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

When I first got my phone I was a little skeptic. I was afraid that it would be hard to understand or that the touchscreen would just do things I didn't request it to do. All those thoughts went away after the first hour. I sat down and worked around the phone to see how it worked and I loved it! A lock feature prevents unwanted mishaps, a touch sensor vibrates as its being touched, and the full keyboard is something I will never go without in the future. I had a full keyboard before that was small, but the LG Envy Touch has the perfect size keys that make this phone not too big and not too small. It fits perfectly anywhere. The camera is also a feature that I am ama...

I hate this phone!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I got this phone with Verizon when i switch to them from Alltel. I owned a touch screen phone before this and LOVED it. However i've only had problems with the EnV Touch. The touch screan STINKS! and for being a touch screen it should have a better locking mechanisim. I'm sure people are tired of my pocket or purse calling them! It's impossible to use the phone with to touch screen. i've tried adjusting it, but it just stinks at being a touch scren. i do like the flop open feature and the full keyboard. it had a button you push that will read your text messages, which is GREAT while driving. it's lacking a voice texting option (or it has one that i cannot figure out!) the mp3 player works gr...

Very satisfied with this phone

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My husband and I each got the LG enV as new phones. We wanted something with a touch screen that provided Internet access. I have had it for about 6 months and have definitely been happy with it. Overall the touch screen works well and is easy to use. It took me a little bit of practice to figure out how to scroll through lists. I kept accidentally calling people when all I wanted to do was scroll down through my address book. Now that I've got the hang of it, that is no longer a problem.

I love that the phone knows if I am using it vertically or horizontally and adjusts the screen accordingly. The keypad is pretty easy to use, though the keys are a big far apart and a smaller one might be ...

great phone with a few drawbacks

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The LG EnV Touch (the follow up to the Voyager) is a great phone with a full 3 inch tough screen outside and a full QWERTY keyboard inside it gives you so many options for how to do what you want to do. There is a cool favourites feature that allows you to add your top 10 contacts to an easy to use shortcut menu - kind of like Speed Dial but better. There is also a shortcuts tab for apps and media, you can keep shortcuts to your most used applications here or on the 'desktop'. There are also a handful of widgets you can put on the desktop that make your life even easier. The alarm clock is so easy to use, as is the calendar which you can sync to your computer via the USB cable that is also t...

Mixed feelings, its a love and hate relationship

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Ah the LG Envy, what I thought would be very comparable to the Iphone but with a qwerty keyboard has proved me slightly wrong. Although it definetely had my perks it also has some annoying features as well. I will start off by telling you the pros over the cons. Pros: It has a sleek look and cool qwerty keyboard for the avid txt messenger. It has cool screen saver, mine is a dark forest at dusk overlooking a lake accented with a falling shooting star that is animated and falls from the sky. The touch screen is fairly easy to use and makes a cool clinking noise when making ur choices. It has an affordable internet package that you can get which the blackberry styles don't offer. One of the...

You get what you pay for!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Verizon wireless over the past 3 years has treated me very well with what i pay for. I hardly ever have a problem with their service that i get.

I have the unlimited texting plan with 700 minutes shared for myself and my partner. We do very well and we dont use alot of our minutates and hardly go over our limits. Verzion offers you to be able to go online to manage your bills and block unwanted things for your children.

I would never get another phone again unless it is verizon wireless.

The Pros:

Great service, Great Customer Serivce, Good Phones, A varitiy of different things to add and remove.

The Negs: The Price of the phone if you are not aviable for an upgrade, and someones the contracts can be a little pricey depending on what you needs and wants are.

Although with verizon you can get some sort of a discount from your company so make sure you look into that. If you have any problems call customer serivce they will fix all of them.

The Envy Touch is a great idea, just needs tweeking

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

Okay, so I bought this phone when my last phone died. My sister has this phone and recommended it. It as hard to spend the kind of money I did on this phone, but I did in hopes that it would be worth it in the end.

It took some getting used to, like all new phones, but not too long to figure it all out.  I like the touch screen, and it's pretty easy to use.

The cons?  Well, I don't like how you have to scroll up and down to get numbers and pics.  It's not very easy to do without accidentally touching one of them, instead of scrolling.  This is very frustratiing when your trying to go through you call log or pictures.  It is not very user friendly in that aspect.

Also, and this is huge, the phone keeps turning off on me!  I will be talking to someone, and the whole phone just goes dead for no reason.  I've only had the phone for 5 months, so it shouldn't be doing this.  Not too impressed with that!

Great Mulltimedia Phone

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I had this phone for over 2 years and it was a great phone.  I upgraded to this phone from the LG Voyager, which I liked also.  This phone's only downfall, was the "clamshell" design, instead of a slider.  I took decent photos, the touch sensitivity was great, without being too touchy.  It got a little slow moving when you had lots on your storage card though.  I did have it stop working here and there, just freeze up or restart itself, which was annoying, but I have yet to find a phone that doesn't do that some of the time.  The battery didn't last as long as I would have liked, but again, that's a cell phone for you.  I loved that you could listen to music whilst text messaging, or "surfing" the mobile web, or using the calculator.  The tip calculator came in handy too.  The dedicated "favorites" widget on the screen was used all day long by me.  I would recommend this phone for someone who wants a fun phone without the "smartphone" price.
