LG - enV VX9900 Cell Phone —

I've used several different cell phones by several different manufacturers including the Samsung Alias. The enV is by far my favorite. Why? There are several reasons. The enV has a better camera than most cell phones; clocking in at an amazing 2.0 mega-pixels. You can take photos without even opening the phone with the touch of a button. It's extremely easy to use...so easy that my 1 year old daughter has managed to take photos before without my knowing! The pictures are of decent enough quality that when I print 4x6 pictures, there isn't any pixelization. The camera also features a lens cover so that you don't get scratches or dust on the lens. You can also flip the camera all the way open, so if you're trying to take a pic of yourself you can see how the picture will look before you take it.
Also, the phone comes in a wide array of colors which is much enhanced by the new variety of enV2 colors. My only problem is that the enV (not the enV2) only has unisex colors. Black, silver, orange, green. I wish there had been a bright pink or blue color I could have chosen from when I bought mine. But when you take color out of the equation, this is the perfect phone.
It stands up to a lot of abuse, actually. I've dropped it on cement, my daughter has pounded it against various surfaces, she has chewed on it, and the phone also vibrates itself off my nightstand on a daily basis. It shows virtually no signs of wear and tear unless you examine it closely. There are a few faint scratches on the bottom from the drop on the cement. And there is a little wear on the corners from being in my jeans pocket. If this phone can withstand my daughter, it can withstand anything!
This phone also has a very generous QWERTY keyboard. I've used many of those types of keyboards and I like this one the best. It fits perfectly in my hands and I can txt the fastest with the enV keyboard over others I've tried. The keyboard features the orange enV shortcut button, a shift key, a symbol key, 2 space keys, a full set (1-0) of numbers, a return key, send/end buttons, and a speaker phone button. It's basically set up like your computer keyboard with out the space-bar at the bottom. Instead, there is 1 space key on each side of the keyboard making it more accessible. What's also good about this phone is that you can txt withOUT opening the phone up. If you're only able to txt with one hand, you can just punch your words in old school style with the number pad on the front of the phone.
Also, as a side note, did I mention that this phone can record up-to 60 minutes of video? Yup, that's right! Of course, you can't send that huge block of time via video message, but you can upload it onto your computer and burn it to a DVD. Pretty sweet is you're out with friends or family and you want to video tape something and you don't have your camcorder! Especially if you have kids. It stinks to see them doing something new or cute and not be able to do anything about it!
The only thing that bothers me about this phone is that it's kinda bulky. It doesn't fit into most cases/holsters because of it's size. When you put it into a back pocket, you have to take ot out before you sit down because it feels funny. However, its' size probably contributes to its' heavy duty-ness. Smaller, thinner phones don't stand up as well to being dropped on the cement. And the vibration setting is kind of loud - so if you're trying to sneak your phone in somewhere where you could get in trouble, not a good idea! I have had the vibration on in the theater though and it's not loud enough to bother people during the movie. In fact, I couldn't even hear it during the movie.
Given the choice, I would still chose this phone over another. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the worst ever and 10 being the best ever) I would give it an 11.
