I have an LG dishwasher Model # LDS5811ST. It's a beautiful appliance but, unfortunately, looks aren't everything and believe me - in this instance I paid more and got less. Shortly before the expiration of my manufacturer's warranty, my dishwasher stopped cleaning the dishes. The piece of plastic that the bottom spray arm attached to became warped and got hung up on the bottom basket and the dishes were not getting cleaned. I purchased this machine because it had everything I was looking for in a dishwasher. Looked great, hidden controls, stainless steel tub, quiet, and matched my other appliances. I purchased it 2 years, 1 week ago. The machines motor just burned out - started flashing "LE" code. I spent $900 for this machine thinking I was gettin top of the line - or at the very least close. The warranty expires after 2 years - called LG - thinking they might have mercy on me since it took a month from the time I bought it to get it - nope - 2 years from the date of purchse - period. We bought our LG dishwasher after reading Consumer Reports reviews.  Also, we had heard that Maytag's quality is not what it once was.  (We left a Maytag behind in our former home that was 7 years old.  It was noisy, but worked great.)  Our LG  (~$500) IS the quietest dishwasher I've ever heard in at any price point and the dishes, pots and pans do come out clean.  The two drawbacks--much of the load is still wet when the cycle finishes, even if I wait until the next morning to unload, so I'm stuck drying!  The silverware is never dry.  My… read full review »

I read the review and I have to say that so far I am happy with my LG dishwasher. BUT I think it is a hit or miss with the LG appliances. I can't help but sympathise with the woman how's LG dishwasher doesn't run. I also have an LG french door, lower freezer fridge. And It broke within 6 months of purchase. And has broken twice more. Bought a LG dishwasher 2 years ago and it's broken already. Need to call for repairs and just to come out to the house it's close to $100.00  I would have been better buying a cheap one and throwing it out in 2 years.
