I have an LG dishwasher Model # LDS5811ST. It's a beautiful appliance but, unfortunately, looks aren't everything and believe me - in this instance I paid more and got less. Shortly before the expiration of my manufacturer's warranty, my dishwasher stopped cleaning the dishes. The piece of plastic that the bottom spray arm attached to became warped and got hung up on the bottom basket and the dishes were not getting cleaned. I called LG and was given a repair service to call. That repairman was on vacation so they gave me 3 other repair services to call. When I called the first number, the telephone had been disconnected; the second one no longer serviced LG products (bad sign), and the third came out. I never heard from him again and he never put in for repair part/parts. I felt the design was defective because nothing in a dishwasher should warp. Then, I called LG again and another repairman came out and, once again, nothing. The third person they gave me made an appointment and never showed up or called. Two and a half months and approximately 35 phone calls/e-mails later, they finally agreed, in writing, to "buyback" the appliance. When I called them to arrange the pick-up of the machine, they said the letter was sent in error and I would be compelled to accept an exchange of the same model, which I fervently believe is defective. I am now going to be stuck with an applicance is inferior. From my perspective, LG appliances are inferior and their response to problems are slow and ineffective. Also, if you are contemplating purchasing an LG electric range, I have a comment on this website about a DEFECTIVE LG electric range I purchased a couple of months after the dishwasher which also took a lot of effort to resolve. I would not recommend LG products to anyone because "Life is NOT Good" with LG.
