LG Washer - Front Load WM2487H Review

This LG WM2487H washing machine is a pleasure to work with!  Our Kitchen Aid washing machine had broken for the second time (not a brand I'd recommend) so we needed to look for a replacement.  I saw this one in the Wild Cherry color and new it would work great with our newly remodeled guest bathroom/laundry room.  Of course more importantly than the color were the features that it provided.  The most important to us was that it saves on water useage which is important since we have a shallow well on our property.  It is so powerful in ringing out the clothes that they spend much less time drying outside or in the dryer.  It is surprisingly quiet and I have to say I do love the lights and sounds!!  Guess I'm sort of a bells and whistles kind of gal... LOL  Anyway, it has so many cycles.  One of my favorite is the allergiene cycle which gives me some peace of mind during flu & cold season.  Now I will say that it does take longer to wash clothes than my previous machine; however, I am willing to overlook that since it does a much better job and is actually more gentle on my clothes.  I had some old bath towels come out looking so fluffy that I couldn't believe it!  I also like the fact that there's no center piece to agitate the clothes, which to me, makes it more gentle on fabrics.  The main complaints that I saw when checking out this machine before our purchase was that it takes longer to wash clothes, the cost, and some people complained of vibrating noises.  I would suggest that anyone considering this machine make sure they have good solid floor joists to support it and also make sure that their flooring is level.  As I mentioned before, we have not experienced any problems with noise.  Another warning is that it is costly; however, you get what you pay for so you may be paying more, but you're getting an excellent quality washing machine.  Oh, and as far as the complaints of a musty smell... just make sure you leave the washing machine door open for a few hours after washing clothes.  I haven't had any problems with mine and always leave the door open overnight or a few hours so that the water inside can dry out.  If leaving the door open is a problem, just wipe it out with a clean cloth, but I think your best bet is to leave the door open so that it can air dry.  I also wanted to mention that it is recommended that you only use HE detergent.  I recommend seventh generation products which are more natural and don't contain harsh chemicals.
