When our old top loading washing machine broke down, we headed to the store to buy another one just like it.  After we got there and explained our large family and the amount of time that I spend washing, the salesperson suggested the LG Electronics model WM0642H.  He said that it would cut the washing time in half and save on the electric bill.  We weighed the options and decided to give it a try. He was right! The tub is much larger so I could do larger loads which cut down on the number of loads I do in a week.  The washing machine goes so fast that the clothes are practically dry by the time you put them in the dryer so that cuts down on the energy used by the dryer.  It cut our utility bill by about $100 a month.  Plus I don't spend as much time on the laundry!  The only drawback is that it tends to smell soured alot.  There is a drain that we keep cleaned and that seems to help.  It helps to leave the door opened too but if you have small kids you don't want to do that.  Overall we are very satisfied with it. We have had it for a little over a year and no problems so far.
